Happiest Parents Have 4 Or More Children

A new study finds that the happiest parents are those who have four or more kids.

According to The Daily Signal, a study conducted by Australia’s Edith Cowan University found parents had the most life satisfaction with larger families.

“[The parents] usually say they always wanted a large family, it was planned that way, and it was a lifestyle they’d chosen,” study author Dr. Bronwyn Harman said, according to The Daily Signal.

All the comments have been great. My husband and I have three children we lost early on, four girls, and are pregnant with our first boy! Funny and sad thing is that I was mistaken as a catholic today and when I said I wasn't one they said I must be mormon. Once I said I wasn't a mormon either they were dumbfounded. Sadly most christians share their view of children with the world, not the Lord.
SF,
Wonderful news sister on your expected little boy.
Will remember you in prayer.
Every blessing to you and yours.

I didn't know all your details myself, thanks for filling them in Barry. The Lord must be giving you great energy.

When you say they are amazing, I agree. I am so enjoying my grandson. I laugh, learn, and marvel at how smart he is.

I don't see him as often as I'd like to. He is short on verbosity at 19 months, but his grasp of language and comprehension of what is required, and by whom, has taught me so much. Our first five hours yesterday were intense with amazing verbal and non verbal communication, but it was so intense he exhausted me. His ability to communicate such complex concepts without words dumb-founds me. He is so helpful and remembers regimen. No meaning no, has had desired results even with our infrequent times together and it caused him to tell me 3 concerns wordlessly. They were his health care concerns for me to fix.

My wife and I have 8 (1-15 years old). It's tiring I've got to admit, but as time goes by we see such tremendous benefits as we endeavour to bring our kids up in a Godly way.

I thought 3 would be good when we got married, my wife thought 4. GOD showed us in the meantime that His ideas were better! We were told (medically) that we may find it hard to have children, but praise GOD - He had other plans for us. I know that's not the case with everyone, but He blesses in His way.

I thought the story was about rabbits, but then saw it was from a study done in Australia. I would be careful dealing with 'studies' since just last month one study said senior adults who do exercise have better brain function, then another study came out a week later to 'prove' that this was not the case.
The study I saw last month or before was that people who have kids were NOT happier than people who did not have kids; even talk show host 'numero uno' in the US, Rush Limbaugh, commented on this study with his vast audience. It also reminds me of a very old issue of "US News and World Report" with a cover photo of a baby with UPC code on its forehead--the story was the million or so dollars that it would cost to raise a child from birth through college.
You could say there is a "War on Families" going on in the US culture where large families are rare. But this would not be news. Better to study the acceptance of women working outside the home, and use of contraceptives. I always thought only Catholics were opposed to contraceptives, so a large family always meant a Catholic family to me. But I learned that many Protestant denominations like Christian Reformed, were opposed to contraceptives, and their families were larger (duh!).

Thanks Mourner for the clarification.

Yes, I guess that was pretty cryptic once I read it and realized some of you guys don't really know me very well. I am a foster parent and have had many children in our home, not my biological children. Right now, I have 6 children in my home, one son, and 5 foster children. I'll try to remember my audience in the future.
Sorry nat.

I do love children, they bring such joy to our home. Now I'm starting to have grand children, 2 girls and 2 boys. They are amazing!

You made me smile. I thought of you while was with my son today. I believe Barry meant he had five brothers and/or sisters, 5 of his own children and since he loves children and loves other children the Lord brings in his providencial path. I thought of Barry's last exclamation today because my time with a toddler was both delightful and demanding of great strength and wisdom. His energy far exceeds mine.

Boys keep you on your toes. I had all brothers and all sons and so far a grandson. The weaker vessels are a rarity on both sides of our family.

I heard something once that said, Men that grew up with sisters and had daughters were more likely to care about women's issues. Don't believe you can support it in Scripture, though maybe in statistics. Men and women's issues are both about sin. Dad read and critic for nat

I take it you are about middle aged? If so are you still thinking you'll marry an 18 year old girl? Have all those kids, live on a ranch in Colorado, and go on the road with a country band? How is the schedule looking to accomplish this?
