Remembering 9/11 and New York City

Attention all users,

In 2001, on a clear September morning the heart of a nation was shattered. That day, forever burned into the minds of those that lived it, will be remembered for generations to come. That morning the world stopped for a moment and watched as a stunned nation mourned.

Today we remember, what we can never forget.

As we reflect on those events we thought it fitting to go back and re-visit some of the sermons that were a help to us during those trying times. Here are a few for your consideration:

The focus of the World's attention has moved on from New York City but the need there is as great as it has ever been. Sitting at the crossroads of the world, New York is in many ways the capital of this present evil age. With nearly 8.5 million people within her bounds much is to be gained in Gospel witness there.

I am still impacted by that terrible day, seemingly now more so than ever. I see it as the day "we" [I won't define who I mean] failed to protect this nation and its citizens. But more than that, it was a day that called the United States to prayer and searching after God. Once the pressure came off, no place but Washington DC and New York City retained the terror and vigilance. I can personally attest that DC was a city under siege, at war, cringing for the next explosion, for years afterward. Unfortunately, so many of those seeking after the Lord at first found other pursuits as distance grew from 9/11/01, like so many Ninevites who repented at Jonah's preaching but then that city later disappeared into the dustbin of history so deeply that many of the unredeemed just thought it to be a Jewish fable brought into the Christian Bible until it was rediscovered by archeologists. Or so much seed sown amongst thorns or on the pathway. May the Lord grant peace and comfort to those of us who still mourn this day for what it was and still is. May the Lord bring lasting repentance through His gift of faith in Himself to the U.S. and around the world. May His presence calm the angry on this post. And may the Lord Jesus return quickly.

First and foremost it is a day to remember for sure, but pray for the families that it might be a time of drawing near to the Lord. Let us also remember that this was done for a new world order and governmental laws to be enacted against the us citizens. Yes I am a inside job believer. Dont have time to debate the issue, but be sure there is plenty of imformation on the web to view as true and factual information to refute the original account. Here is just two links that are a must view., and the other has been erased by you tube. Again plenty of information to review. One question that is in clear view, where did all the beams go after the collapse? And why did our Christian president bush brake the law by shipping crime scene evidence to china before the evidence was examined? he broke the law, and everyone in congress that allowed him and whoever was responsible are just as guilty. Pray that we may have the power to withstand and be counted worthy for our Lord for the evil that is coming upon this nation And let us not forget the 3rd tower that came down, we were only told 2.Search it out

Biblical Perspective on Death, Terrorism, and the Middle East, Pt 1 and A Biblical Perspective on Death, Terrorism, and the Middle East, Pt 2 the first sermon, is on SermonAudio, the second one is on the GTY site and has a transcript with it. The transcript is even long! Excellent commentary on the the results of disaster and how we should view it from God's perspective. So the sermons were done around the time of the 9/11 disaster and take that into account.

Considering recent events, and the --official-- topic of this thread, I was remiss in not putting up this URL The Bloody Legacy of Islam and you are free to use it, if you give a printout of the whole thing.

Well, Tony, I was at least waiting for some comments on the defense of Mr. Hyles, since it is reported he was an adulterer also. Like father like son-in-law? Why Adulterous Pastors Should Not Be Restored, Should Fallen Pastors Be Restored?, and Wise Men Live Out God's Wisdom.

Tony, if you have any arguments with someone a really big disagreement I suggest that you contact Bible Discernment Ministries
John Beardsley wrote:
It is my humble opinion any Bible believing, born-again, Fundamental Independent Baptist or any serious Bible believing Christian should mark and avoid FBC and Hyles-Anderson in accordance with Scriptures. Acts 20:30, "Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them." And Ephesians 5:11, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them]." Also see Scriptures in Romans 16:17-18, Jude 3, and others, Read the FBC and Hyles-Anderson history, read what is in black in white here, listen to the audio and video clips!.
from the comments to Jack Schaap--General Teachings/Activities

I believe what was written about Mr. Hyle's adultery, but when it comes to Jack Schaap, his adultery has been proven in court! Just in case you haven't seen my comments about adulterous pastors, q.v., Wise Men Live Out God's Wisdom

I am Tony? amazing! Remember you're the one who goes to the church which has been accused of, Red Hot Preaching

Now I knew about your criminal former pastor, Jack Schaap, Jack Schaap -- The apple did not fall from the far from the Hyles' sad legacy!. But for Jack's criminal career see, I will be interested Tony in hearing your defense for Mr. Schaap.

Now the pastor of Christian Fellowship Church doesn't lead such an exciting life as Mr. Schaap, but then he is a Christian.

For Tony's information,
Wikipedia wrote:
The Illuminati is a name given to several groups, both real and fictitious. Historically, the name usually refers to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment-era secret society founded on May 1, 1776. The society's goals were to oppose superstition, obscurantism, religious influence over public life and abuses of state power. "The order of the day," they wrote in their general statutes, "is to put an end to the machinations of the purveyors of injustice, to control them without dominating them." The Illuminati—along with Freemasonry and other secret societies—were outlawed through Edict, by the Bavarian ruler, Charles Theodore, with the encouragement of the Roman Catholic Church, in 1784, 1785, 1787 and 1790.

How quickly they are forgotten!
Reminds me of:
Ecclesiastes 6:12
For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?
Please note my previous comment, Sept. 11: What you'll see at the new Flight 93 National Memorial Visitor Center about more information on the Pennsylvania tragedy and the heroism of the passengers. I'm sorry, I didn't see the movie about it.

I remember not only the early shock but the later anger that the military was mobilized to take out a few Arab countries. Perhaps Bush Jr's hand would have been forced, if the pictures of people jumping out of the Towers -- that or being burned alive were shown more widely. Did people jump from the WTC towers on 9/11 because their rooms were on fire and they were about to be burned alive? No pics with this
