Your cat doesn’t love you: science

Rudyard Kipling was right. Cats really do walk by themselves, and do not need their owners to feel secure and safe, a study has shown. Although absent owners might worry that their pet is pining, in fact, cats show no sign of separation anxiety.

Researchers at the University of Lincoln have concluded that cats, unlike dogs, do not need humans to feel protected.

Before cat lovers start despairing about their aloof pets, however, animal behaviourists said they should take the finding as a compliment. If cats stay, it means they really want to be there.

Daniel Mills, Professor of Veterinary Behavioural Medicine at the University of Lincoln’s School of Life Sciences, said: “The domestic cat has recently passed the dog as the most popular companion animal in Europe. ...

Thanks Mourner. I'm not sure that my doctrines are wrong as much as I probably mis-word my points at times.
However, I would really like to be corrected when wrong or asked to clarify if any of my comments ever seem off. I've had to change a few things I learned at first after being taken to task and corrected here over the years, and I'm sure I'm not finished.

@Christopher I did not mean to confuse you. If I did you would not be the first person. I've been told I speak in riddles by those who know me better than you do. Since I know what I'm thinking it doesn't seem so to me.

I believe I cannot know your election of grace. I can only guess what you believe from what you say. You are not at present attending a Church to my knowledge, then I'd have a better idea of what doctrine you embrace.

If God has begun a good work in you, He will complete it. I can't know that, its the secret working of God. I can only look at the outward appearance.

I remember something I heard once. A young woman asked her Professor: What do you think about God? He said: My dear young woman it matters not what I think about God, but what God thinks about me.

I observe your doctrine is different than mine and you're looking for counsel that is hard to find or sometimes when found, hard to receive. I am a woman and I want you to be more careful of your wife's good name. I thought I was too careless with my ex husband's in this format and I don't think it's right. Christ is an excellent burden bearer; Wonderful Counselor.

What 'I' observe, no matter for how long is only as good as agreeable with the Scripture. You might have to help me commun

Hi Mourner, I read your comment yesterday afternoon but didn't respond because it threw me into a tailspin. My days are already bleak, even though I might sound different and perfectly normal when commenting and that's because I have a couple of not so bad hours in the mornings, but why I fade out and disappear after, not usually returning until the following AM.
Anyway, I guess all that wasn't necessary, but I need to ask: Your comments are based on paying close attention to my comments for some time now...is it your impression that I'm probably not saved? This is what I took from your comments, hence, the tailspin. I view you as seeming to be closer to God than many, in constant prayer, study, and reflection, etc, so I take you more seriously than some because I feel like if God was going to speak to anyone, you would be right up there. I really hope I'm misunderstanding so was hoping you could be more clear on what you mean. I know that so many claim to be saved, but are deluded, convincing themselves that they are, but never were. Do you view me as one.of these? Obviously, you don't know me personally, but I'm wondering what you've gleaned from my various comments over time and what specifically has you questioning. I just need to know what I'm not seeing in myself

@ Christopher,

My motherly concern is: Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. The Sadducees didn't believe in the resurrection of the dead and you don't seen to quite understand what sanctification should look like. Rome is not easily removed from ex papists and or harlot daughters of Rome. Your situation is quite complex that is the nature of sin. I have come to understand my own (complex situation) in part. I had no idea for 23 years after conversion how God viewed all/every sin, my sin in particular. My whole life was displayed to my minds eye for consideration and confession of sin when the Lord sequestered me. Can relate to wanting a kind, understanding Christian ear and response to things you can't put all together in your mind. It is a time when that is not easy to find, if at all possible.

I'm going to tell you a story. I want you to ponder it. Sometime ago now, my state gov was under investigation for prostitution and charged. It being still criminal, he left or was made to leave office, can't recall. The lieutenant gov. came next up. He had some bad press issues too. He came clean at a time when sin is taken lightly, by publicly confessing his affair, that he blamed on his wife.

Neither man was fit for office. Ps.14

Hi Get Real, you didn't misunderstand anything. I probably worded my comment wrong. I was just angry with myself for adding myself to the mix when I just wanted to focus solely on you.

Still chopping tomatoes. I'm tempted to fearful unbelieving because since I lost and then left a job for conscience sake I've lived a strange life. From 2006-2009 it was on savings, and providence, then in 2009 I returned to my former home, to my ex husband and children, eating my words; I'd rather die than..Faced with that very real possibility by exposure, I submitted to male household consensus. I was given my own separate living space and I worked for keep. I learned to submit where I should and to what I could and could not. Oh I'm not stirring the chili sauce it will stick to the pot.

No men left any more. Unlikely I'll make it through another winter unless the Lord wills. Downsizing to me means eliminating weight in a 1806 post and beam with a leaking roof, two broken windows since last winter and rotten sills. I've been given two fish and seven loaves. Pray I'll sit down eat and be thankful and not care only about miracles that I don't see yet but trust I've already experienced them Christ died for me even me!

Get Real,

Ladies before gentlemen. I was exhausted from ALL day canning thinking about everything as I worked. The house smelled so good but it was very hot and humid. Tomato skins and seeds were everywhere. I was trying to remember which seeds were which as I gathered them up for next year D.V. I rose to the smell of chili sauce, concerned I didn't see a post from you before I retired for the night. Your post greeted me this morning. In another context I'd tell you what I've learned from life and Scripture, but this isn't it. Would have been nice to talk chopping tomatoes together, the way it should be.

Comment to your comment posted (conversation-like) we are chopping tomatoes and peppers, crying over onions and sin together: and I say: If we have faith that God will sustain us and it is saving faith (remember the demons believe and tremble); then we ARE being sustained by God! Praise the Lord for His unspeakable gift that is FREE, FREE, GRACE at the expense of the Blood of Jesus Christ, who loves all those the Father gave him . Listen to 'What does every sin deserve?' from Luke 23:44-46 it so helped me.

...I wasn't sure if I would have enough room for the rest.
So, here's my question in regards to:
"I've been listening and thinking concerning all you say for some time."

When someone gives me a verse or two, I can usually figure out what they're trying to tell me, but you gave me quite a bit and I'm not really sure which specific parts you were meaning for me to take away. My question is: What have you noticed about me specifically after watching what I say for some time?
Please be precise and blunt...I can take it just fine because I know it's coming from a good place. I would prefer, "I think you're this or that", or whatever, over any verses just I know exactly where my problem areas are, etc.from a human perspective.
Know that I appreciate your taking the time because I can tell that you genuinly care about others and I value the input because of that.

Good morning. I read all the verses you supplied yesterday. I hadn't used MySword in a while, which is the mobile version of ESword and it remembers where you were last, and it happened to be open to Romans 8 which I thought was interesting.
The part in your comment that hit home is where you said you didn't like what God was doing to your flesh but knew it was for your conformity to the word and will of God. This made sense to me in that maybe it's why my prayers haven't been answered over the years for a specific thing...He's waiting on me to conform and do Him before He does me.

Thanks for taking the time, Mourner. I'll get back to you tomorrow morning with a comment and question or two.

Good morning to me and good evening to u ,
It's Dave from oz on my sons phone.
God loves you and I love you as a sister in Christ,
Oh how I pray that I might be there to protect you, it's awful when your kids are addicts I know first hand dear sister, such a tearing in half of your emotions, I know I pray constantly that my daughter will get off the alcohol and I think it's ice that she takes, I feel so angry sometimes and my prayers drift to frustrated thought at the fact of what's happening to my grandsons, then God floods my thoughts with love and forgiveness for my daughter.
Unlike you I'm not in physical danger.
Father, lord in heaven, keep our sister from Wisconsin safe,
Lord you better than any know the situation , lord I pray for a mighty works of the Holy Spirit in the sons life, lord ,father I pray for safety and comfort for the daughters in this environment ,
Through Jesus I come to you father . Amen

Christopher, I agree that man as a sinner carries a huge weight of sin that is lifted after conversion, even when quickened there are Fatherly corrective actions God takes with his children to conform them to their Elder Brother. Really think about these texts. Romans 8; Ps. 32

When I was a younger woman, I used to walk with a friend by a river. We lived in the city and it was the only real place to stretch our legs. We discussed these texts. One day it broke in on me that if the Spirit was interceding with unutterable groanings because he knew my heart like only God can though I didn't understand why God was doing what my flesh didn't like, I could trust that even the hardest of things were for my conformity to the word and will of God. God re-educates his people.

Does this make sense related to what you said?

Thanks Mourner...I'm always open to correction, constructive criticism, and learning.
"Let go and let God" In the context of my comments, I simply mean to let our struggles become His and letting Him take on the weight, surrendering ourselves to him fully instead of fighting with worldly, human weapons and trying solve things with our own human intellect, understanding, and will. All things work out for His purpose but I think we tend to.stand in the way at times.
I don't know if I made myself clear, but feel free to ask, or correct me.

Quick response Christopher: I've been listening and thinking concerning all you say for some time.

Two texts:
Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: (Paul to Titus)
Tit 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
Tit 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

1Ti 5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
1Ti 5:2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

read James 4

Find Scripture to support; Let go and let God.

Yes, pray on but remember praying in the Spirit must be in agreement with the teachings of Scripture. This I say because of your shared background with different doctrines.

Need to get back to down-sizing and canning.
