Judge orders Rowan clerk to appear in court Thursday after she again denies 'marriage' licenses

Davis, an Apostolic Christian, has refused to issue any marriage licenses in Rowan County since the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage June 26. U.S. District Judge David Bunning issued a preliminary injunction Aug. 12 ordering Davis to resume issuing licenses. She appealed to the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, both of which denied her.

Lawyers for local couples who are suing Davis, demanding marriage licenses, quickly filed a motion Tuesday asking Bunning to find the clerk in contempt of court and fine her.

"Plaintiffs do not seek to compel Davis' compliance through incarceration," wrote William Sharp, legal director for the ACLU of Kentucky, which represents the couples.

"Since defendant Davis continues to collect compensation from the commonwealth for duties she fails to perform, plaintiffs urge the court to impose financial penalties sufficiently ...

First we agree that the courts are overstepping their boundaries and ignoring the constitution.

We agree she is right to not issue the marriage licenses.

But you can make up all the facts you want (no commentary agrees with you and it is not seen in the Bible, so we know that following in the steps of Paul and Jesus is a false statement, Paul even appealed to the court system see Acts 25:11) but lets look at your plan. She doesn't go to court, a warrant is issued for her arrest, she ends up in jail, and your strategy is better because?

Had Davis gone underground while leaving a standing order to HER deputies to not sign on to Sodomy:

Give credence to an out of control despotic evil 5 lawyers? Ha!
John Adams wrote the Massachusetts Constitution in 1780, in which the powers of the commonwealth are divided in the document “to the end it may be a government of laws, not of men.”
A "court" that invents law out of thin air is not ruled by law: and thus merits contempt, avoidance , & the Spirit of '7

Paul didn't escape court, he escaped those lying in waiting to kill him. Jesus also did the same. Neither one avoided going to court. Your example only works if she flees to not be put to death. Which would be a good idea. She is not starting her own country. If she ignored the court order to appear, she would be in the same jail.

"Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests? But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ. And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket. "
So Paul disobeying the court & fleeing the jurisdiction tells you what?
Jesus' respect for the court in Matt. 23?
Or Paul took to heart Matt 24:9's warning with Jesus' example in John 10 of escaping those who hate you by avoiding & getting out of their jurisdiction - hard for the courts of Abomination to catch you in mountains mt 24:15-16

contrast servile obedience to a "constitution " as defined by Sodomite lawyers vs. wisdom of lawyer Adams who ignored British courts.

great quotes, what does that have to do with going to court when you are summoned? Jesus went to court, Paul, Peter, Silas went to court. Reread Elmer's post, he is basically saying don't go to court when summoned. He can correct me if I am inaccurately portraying what he is saying.

We've been having unstable weather here in OH from the heat. I had tuned in to a radio station last night to get an update on the weather and just prior to it (it was a talk show station) I heard a commentator try to slander Davis by saying that she had had 3 divorces. These were in her past before she was saved. He didn't say that; I looked it up elsewhere and I doubt that as a practicing RC who takes Gods' name in vain and imbibes that he even would understand the difference. What surprises me his support for the sodomites which is antithetical to Scripture, yet, his use of Scripture which cites God's disdain for divorce. On the one hand he counters Scripture and on the other he gives it credence. Davis' divorces were before her conversion and,if one understands Scripture, are not to be held against her now.

1 Peter 4:15
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

1 Peter 4:16 -18
Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

4:19
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator

1 Peter 5:7-8
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

1 Peter 5:9
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

You must refuse and cast away all evils, do what is good, and ever study to do what will please God. In no way look back (as Lot's wife did), but still go forward. And then if you call to God for mercy, putting your full and only trust in Him, He will hear you and take from you those plagues that lie on you, and the others which most certainly (if you do not repent) hang over you and will come upon you. Then He will send you His and benediction for malediction; plenty for famine; health for pestilence; peace for wars; quietness for trouble; a godly and just government for cruel tyranny; and for sedition, such force and power that you, being few, shall be able to withstand all the tyrannies of the world and enemies of God and our country, and utterly confound them and destroy them.

In the above quote it is stated that "if the prince fall in his promise, the people are exempt from obedience."

Applying it to this situation, I'd ask what prince(?)promised what, in whose name did he swear and to whom? I'm asking, historically speaking; How would Mr Knox or one of his posterity holding the same doctrine look at this nation in application of the Scriptural principle?

I just come across this yesterday. What a blessing! Perfect for some of you.

I suggest you read it all, but here's a little:

"All courts are structured on a concept similar to that of Las Vegas casinos. I’ve heard that both the courts and the casinos winning odds are 86% to 14%. The wins, permitted by the house, are calculated to prompt the masses to think they, too, can win. From our perspective, we win only episodically and without rhyme or reason. The latest and greatest “process” from the Remedy Rock Stars is never any better or worse than what we have already tried. Each is likely somewhat theoretically accurate, but that is moot when, in practice, there is no win. The house/court always wins, even when we also do. It is solely a numbers game and the results of each case are arbitrary except for our competence and conduct. Again, the only reason for the very few wins at the casino/court is to convince the masses to “come on down” and TRY to win. This grants the casino/court the opportunity to fleece us out of our cash.

There is NO reason to accept an invitation to court. What causes us to think we must? The invitation is for them to entrap us via their tric

Returning to the AP article, I found that the portion about her son was no longer there instead the following account was. "Faced with the possibility of fines, jail time or the loss of their jobs, five of the clerks promised to issue the licenses."

"I don't really want to, but I will comply with the law," said one, Melissa Thompson. "I'm a preacher's daughter and this is the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life," she added. "I don't hate anybody ... None of us do."

While Kim Davis' antagonistic protesters in the article's photos held rainbow posters with the words 'Love Won' Love is the fulfillment of the Law. Christ is the fulfillment of the Law. I John 4:14-16

God is not contrary to Himself nor His self revelation concerning who he is and what He requires of man found in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.

It is impossible that the ascended Mediator has not won, all things progress according to His secret counsel and all that has been revealed in the prophetic Scripture will be fulfilled.
