Pope says weapons manufacturers can't call themselves Christian

People who manufacture weapons or invest in weapons industries are hypocrites if they call themselves Christian, Pope Francis said on Sunday.

Francis issued his toughest condemnation to date of the weapons industry at a rally of thousands of young people at the end of the first day of his trip to the Italian city of Turin.

"If you trust only men you have lost," he told the young people in a long, rambling talk about war, trust and politics after putting aside his prepared address.

Some hater keeps removing my writings.

Anyway, the rest of the story is that sissy boy fired, but trespasser dude left a bomb as he vacated.

Dorcas, that is a very good example. Your family is a peace loving family, so is mine. We do no harm to anyone, good citizins, etc. Your dad knows there is danger around so he carries a gun to protect himself even though he puts his trust in God for protection. He is prepared to kill rather than be killed with the gun he takes with him. So he trusts God and at the same time he takes a gun to protect himself. We could have been harmless as a dove and allow the robber to continue his robbing even invited him into our home because scripture tells us to do that because the stranger might be an angel unaware. Wise as serpents means just that. It means we use our God given instints. We trust God and the incident was resolved and no one the worst. He didn't steal anything or hurt us and we didn't have do harm to him and we give God the glory for that. Amen?

He was indeed, but the example he gave of the goodman keeping watch is valid. Though we do not know when the thief may come(as we do not know when the Lord will come) we are to keep watch in both cases, not just the one. Methinks the Lord would hardly use an invalid example to make a valid point. Rather he says "if" the goodman had known what hour the thief would come, then he would have been watching *at that hour.* But as a you rightly point out, we don't know when the thief may come, therefore we are to keep watch always. His point applies to both cases.
Yep! Good point Mike. I'll concede that well made exposition of the scripture. And if the main point was to keep watch for the second coming, we ought to have our priority in that direction. "The coming of the Lord draweth nigh." Praise God.

And his coming will usher in the end of the world.

a secret deal.
will gun control and carbon credits or whatever they call it be in there? sure! land rights. they want the resources including the human type.
Interesting how some who ought to know better agree with the pope on the gun issue, yet don't see what's behind it, the same that's behind all such efforts. It isn't safety for the people. Same old

Francis is the hypocrite! He calls himself a Christian by trusting in his church and sacrements etc.

Your only a Christian if you have been born-again by the Holy Spirit of God. Your born-again by repenting of your sins and placing your faith and trust in the only Saviour of sinners the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Glory to God Hallelujah!

Funny considering how many people were killed, maimed and tortured by the rest of the world before there ever was an "American way" to vent about.

Yes, Mourner, that article ]]http://www.jpost.com/landedpages/printarticle.aspx?id=406862 (Soldier from Operation Protective Edge responds to UN report: 'We have paid for morality in blood'). I used the print version, since there aren't ads around it, is fine! From what I read of this URL,
]]http://blog.skepticallibertarian.com/2013/01/12/fact-checking-ben-swann-is-the-uk-really-5-times-more-violent-than-the-us/ The writer isn't hostile to 2nd Adm. He said, "What it does mean is that Swann’s argument here is disingenuous, factually inaccurate, and fundamentally flawed. At best, he is giving gun enthusiasts bad reasons to support the Second Amendment when perfectly good reasons are already available. By spreading myths, distorting data, and exaggerating the case, Ben Swann is doing libertarians and Second Amendment advocates a disservice."

Let me suggest another reason why some folk have a gun in the USA....
My parents live in an area where there is rattlesnakes, and bob-cats.
My Dad carries a weapon with him most times when he is out working on his property...most times he kills a rattler with his shovel, but there has been an odd occasion he was mighty glad he had his weapon...
We are not all gun toting fanatics trusting in our Smith and Wesson to protect us. we put our trust in our Sovereign King and are harmless as doves...wise as serpents.

Mike my bro,
Your John's gospel verse I believe is referring to spiritual things only: the devil destroys but Jesus brings us life in the Spirit, which is abundant life without fear.
But your second verse is a good example. Thank you.
Trouble is, it has the "if" clause.
"If" the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come..."
Seeing as we don't know when a thief might come, I don't see how that applies to us. But the Lord was using a passing reference to illustrate his own coming.
He was indeed, but the example he gave of the goodman keeping watch is valid. Well, as I said, I cannot see that; but I will say this.: on day one, as it was happening, the State Police made several statements to the media, on video. (Several of which are still available) that specifically stated that the "suspect" only took 3 handguns into the building, and that the AR-15 was left in the car. Not just media reports, but official statements by the police in a press conference. (I know the Matt Lauer GMA video is still out there, and I'm sure there are others still. We were just discussing them in class last semester when we were talking about media and social control… Kind of like the Oklahoma City bombing where the news reported, and showed official statements by responding police, that there were several undetonated secondary explosives in the federal building, but by day three all of those reports at all but disappeared. Why? Someone's agenda.
Personally, I know several public information officer's for law-enforcement, and they do not release initial information that they are unsure of… I would then assume then, that if they said specifically the AR-15 was left in the car, and only changed after the corner report, that it was probably agenda driven, and not fact driven.
