Rubio: Christianity will be labeled 'hate speech'

Christianity is facing a "real and present danger" in the United States due to growing acceptance for gay marriage, Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Marco Rubio said.

"We are at the water's edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate speech. Because today, we've reached the point in our society where, if you do not support same-sex marriage, you are labeled a homophobe and a hater," the Florida Republican told CBN News.

It should be pointed out that ]]God Hates Sin, Hates Sinners Even if the Romish Church uses the same words as Christians they can have entirely different meanings e.g., Biblical tradition vs. Catholic tradition.
Mike Gendron wrote:
The Apostle Paul, known as the greatest evangelist in the first century, is an excellent model for us to follow. He not only proclaimed the Gospel faithfully against relentless opposition, but he also warned of "professing Christians" who would distort the truth and draw away disciples (Acts 20:30). For this reason he taught antithetically, proclaiming what the Gospel is, as well as, what it is not. This technique is so important when witnessing to "professing Christians" who have been led astray by a perversion of the true Gospel. Paul’s antithetical teaching declares salvation is by grace and not of works (Eph. 2:8-9), by God’s mercy and not righteous deeds (Titus 3:5) and according to God’s Holy calling and initiative, not man’s (2 Tim. 1:9; Rom. 8:28-30). If we follow Paul’s example we will warn Catholics that: 1) sinners are justified by personal faith in Jesus,

So I am saved according to the Bible because the Bible states that salvation comes by putting ones trust entirely in Jesus alone for salvation.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we trust in him alone for salvation (1 John 2:3)

The above statement is a lie. Here's what scripture actually declares:
And hereby do we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

The lawless doctrines of men and devils have produced a reprobated generation of clueless, hellbound people who are absolutely convinced they can participate in every imaginable wickedness and still go to heaven, because the have been told ...
I know because I've spoken to them and they are unreachable.

Ultimately what Satan is doing with this one is seeking to discredit the Bible. This will subsequently nullify the church and destroy the witness of truth. But the real protagonist in this play is the Liberal church, eg: Anglican, Episcopalian, Methodist, PCUSA, and other Liberals.
The Liberal church has already ditched the Bible (it is mythology) so to them it is irrelevant. One of their heretical fictions is that man is and can progress to a 'more' godly state.

""In liberal Christian teaching, which is not Christian at all, man’s reason is stressed and is treated as the final authority. Liberal theologians seek to reconcile Christianity with secular science and modern thinking. In doing so, they treat science as all-knowing and the Bible as fable-laden and false. Genesis’ early chapters are reduced to poetry or fantasy, having a message, but not to be taken literally (in spite of Jesus’ having spoken of those early chapters in literal terms). Mankind is not seen as totally depraved, and thus liberal theologians have an optimistic view of the future of mankind.""

"Hate speech" stems from the bible-myth according to Liberals. These evil reprobates are the real enemy.

Rubio, seemingly, has Catholic ties. His name and birthplace kind of suggests that.
We can pray that he would hear God's word rightly divided and praise God that His Word NEVER goes out void!
Nor will it be compromised-en vogue or out.

One final thought, any of us who are true Christians whom the Lord may have placed in a sphere of influence or by other lawful means should work to support freedom for all, even for those with whom we disagree.

While I would never support papal doctrines, I would adamantly defend their freedom to hold them even if they themselves would deny such freedoms to me.

What concerns me are statements like this:

Rubio said the "next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church, is hate speech, and that's a real and present danger."

If I read this correctly, he is equating Christianity with what is taught in Roman Catholic Catechism. While I am glad he qualified Christianity with the term "mainstream" most readers today might miss the point. It is not a mainstream Christianity that needs to be fought for, but a biblical one. The papal catchechism hardly reprensents the Bible's teaching on the things it affirms and in many, many affirmations is diabolically opposed to Holy Scripture.

In the days of the Reformation it was the lack of the Bible and its availability that the papal antichrist used to keep the people under their authority until the light of God's Word and truth broke the bondage. Now, it seems, the deception is more pernicious in keeping people in ignorance by suggesting that the Scriptures agree with these same papal heresies even though we can read for ourselves. It is like Jesus said that even if one were to rise from the dead, they would not believe.

May the Lord Jesus, the ONLY Head of His Church, be merciful to us and protect His elect from these great decepti

Hi John, I liked your first paragraph, but what I pasted in quotes...nobody, to my knowledge, has ever once said. What they do say is that they can't comprehend how any follower of Christ, having been born from above, and with the knowledge of His Word, could continue to remain under and identify with any system that adds to and takes away from His Word in so many blatant, proud, fatal, diabolical ways.

No doubt about it ... What we believe and stand for will be hated. Of course, we ourselves will be hated!

We are to love our enemies no matter what. This cannot be forgotten!

Rubio is right that Christianity will be labeled 'hate speech'. There has to be a mighty working of the Holy Spirit to get individuals to embrace Jesus as their Savior and to trust in Him alone for salvation to bring this nation back to sanity. I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to embrace Jesus as my Savior and to trust in Him alone for salvation during that Altar Call at my brothers Non Denominational Church. So I am saved according to the Bible because the Bible states that salvation comes by putting ones trust entirely in Jesus alone for salvation. It is totally false to state that one who trusts in Jesus alone for salvation has to attend an Evangelical Protestant Church in order to be really saved. Jesus will not look at the church that one attended in deciding who enters Heaven. He will only look at who had embraced Him as their Savior and trusted in Him alone for salvation in deciding who enters Heaven.
