Pope making trouble for GOP Catholics

Catholic Republicans are developing a pope problem. Earlier this month, Francis recognized Palestinian statehood. This summer, he’s going to issue an encyclical condemning environmental degradation. And in September, just as the GOP primary race heats up, Francis will travel to Washington to address Congress on climate change.

Francis may be popular with the general public, but key Republican primary constituencies — hawks, climate-change skeptics and religious conservatives, including some Catholics, are wary of the pope’s progressivism. Some, pronouncing themselves “Republicans first and Catholics second,” even say they would look askance at a candidate perceived to hew too closely to the bishop of Rome. This internal conflict flips a familiar script, in which Democrats like John Kerry and Joe Biden were labeled “cafeteria Catholics” when their stances on social issues like abortion and gay ...

Specifically Cruz and Rubio are very Romantic Catholic yet appear as defending Christians liberty. To that extent they are right, but be wary of how they define Christianity.
Rand Paul is an open Protestant as an alternative.

I should have put this on one of my messages on this thread. Dr Rugh made some comments early on and Pope Franny's reign, well actually two sermons, ]]Jesus Christ, Our One & Only High Priest and ]]

You are going to be always disappoined that born again Bible believing Christians here do not tickle your ears with words that would be so false to us of how you are somekind of wonderful Christian in the religion, a blend of Catholicism, sinner's prayer, and choosing to do what you want you are practising
So as kindly as I might quit, cease with your RC stuff and if you want to really correspond on these news threads try something different read your Bible, learn what it says (believe it and obey it would be very good too)
and then you can post what it says
for example about salvation
Did you know the Gospel is something to be obeyed? Look it up
Did you know sinners have a great need to obey Jesus Christ?
Hebrews 5:8,9 kjv
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation UNTO ALL THEM THAT OBEY HIM;
I believe it is safe to say my brothers and sisters in Christ know there is a night and day change in loyalty and alligiance in saving faith, far different from an empty lip service of 'Lord, Lord'

Author of the article wrote:
“If Bush vocally and loudly aligns himself with the pope,
that’s a general election strategy, that’s not a primary
strategy.”
But for Bush, a devout convert, it may not be a strategy at
all. “That’s the thing about Jeb Bush,” said Moore. “This
wasn’t a political calculation for him. I think there’s a
heartfelt belief that this pope is really spreading Catholic
faith around the world.”
Jeb Bush seems to be the least desirable of a bad lot of Catholic politicians. At least he isn't a hypocrite when he comes to his Catholicism. But of course, it would have been better if none of these fellows were Catholic at all, instead of varying degrees of hypocrites. Many will return to being Catholics first and Republican second, when they think the opportunity is good for that. And you are so entitled to your opinions about the Catholic Mass and the Pope
Let me simply ask you to kindly keep those things/opinions about Catholicism to yourself, as that would be between you and the RCC, unless you bring them up with genuine born again Bible believing Christians here on SermonAudio, in which case you would be provoking a response from those who would witness the TRUTH to you that you might make your profession of faith sure
If I trust in Jesus alone for salvation and embraced Jesus as my Personal Savior then I am saved. It is totally false to state that because I attend the RCC and not an Evangelical Protestant Church that I am not really saved. That is not what the Bible states. The Bible states that those who trust in Jesus alone for salvation are saved. Nowhere in the Bible is it mentioned anything about that one has to attend an Evangelical Church in order to be saved. In fact the Bible does not state that church attendance in any church is necessary for salvation.

V. 12.-The second beast "exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,"-in his presence, or under his sanction and powerful protection. Thus the state, or empire, lays the church under obligation, and of course expects a reciprocity of kind offices. This is effected by the beast of the earth "causing the earth-to worship the first beast." By force and craft this is accomplished. By his, "two horns" of power, the regular and secular orders of the hierarchy, as from the mouth of a "dragon," he enjoins "submission to the (civil) powers that be." But besides the horns of power, that is, ecclesiastical authority, this beast of the earth, in order more effectually to enforce his commands to worship the first or civil beast, resorts to "great wonders,-miracles," (vs. 13, 14,)- "lying wonders;" (2 Thess. ii. 9 for Paul and John agree in their description of the same diabolical agency." Actually, John Y., the Pope has a keen mind and the only ones out of their minds are "Cafeteria Catholics"

"Half-hearted Catholics–those who believe only some of the Church’s teachings–aren’t really Catholics at all."

Pope Francis wrote:
hey may call themselves Catholic,...“but they have one foot out the door....{“Uniformists”}They are rigid! They do not have that freedom the Holy Spirit gives, d the Pope. “They do not have that freedom the Holy Spirit gives,” and they confuse what Jesus preached with their “own doctrine of uniformity.” Jesus never wanted the church to be so rigid, Pope Francis said. Such people “call themselves Catholics, but their rigid attitude distances them from the Church.” ...“Alternativists” They, according to Pope Francis, have “a partial belonging to the church. These, too, have one foot outside the church....The “alternativists” are today’s “Cafeteria Catholics” who accept some teachings, but not the teachings which they find inconvenient.

Rich elitist globalists found that the attraction of communism/socialism to the masses would be a good way to break down our present societies and replace them with world government ran by them so they co-opted the communist party to accomplish their goals. That's why you see the rich promoting redistribution of wealth but not their own of course. Naturally antichrist popes and his ilk were on board years ago with Vatican II, the official catholic beginning of ecumenism. Don't forget that the Vatican spawned Obama as an organizer. The harlot church committing spiritual fornication with the kings of the earth (world leaders and rich globalist elitists). That's why you see the pope in line with illegal immigration, global warming, UN sovereignty, gay marriage (whom am I to judge), and redistribution of wealth. The false prophet pope will be the multi-spiritual leader of a pagan world. Stereotypical of what antichrist does best. Disguising paganism with a false Christian exterior.

Why should we be surprised that todays Pope is a Liberal?
Liberalism is one of the steps to take the papal office to the antichrist public acceptance.
The ecumenical friends of the Vatican and its cult are from the Liberal churches and are happy with Francis whatever he does or says.
Rome's relic, icon and dead people idolatry is totally acceptable to Lefty Liberals whose worldly religion is rewrite the Bible to accommodate man's anything goes ideology.
They also both worship the same goddess.
Very well said and thanks for your thoughts. I will just add; "the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend". Which means I could care less about the differences between satan's church, the RCC of course.
