Muslims Demand That ‘Offensive’ Crosses Be Removed… From CATHOLIC School

A complaint that says crosses at Catholic school are “offensive”, and prevent Muslim prayers, has been filed against Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

It is only the latest in an endless series of demands for Sharia Law adherence by Muslims in America.

The complaint to the Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights, filed by a leftist professor from rival George Washington University, says there are “too many crosses in every room of Catholic University” which is a “human rights violation that prevents Muslim students from praying there.” ...

Christ depicted on the papal ferula (staff) has always given me the willies. I always see Him depicted as a helpless baby or broken, emaciated, and dead with Mary propping up His head, holding creation in her hand, looking vibrant and powerful, etc. I understand the concept of Christ being broken and dying for us on that cross of wood, but the message should be an emty cross...victory.

What an offence to Christians the world over that rc attach their cult religion to yshua! And its sad that. The twits in rcc don't even know their own belief system, a completely twisted version of scripture that they blindly defend.
Who cares what the Muslims or Catholics think?

Thank you,Michael for your post.
What you say about their view of the Bible is true. I had once quoted -I Timothy 2:5
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" to a dear RC friend of mine but she said that the Bible was written by man and Timothy was of less significance than Mary.
What the RCC teaches is very sorry.

Why do RCs have a false image of Christ on their cross?
"The first appearances of a cross upon the altar occurred approximately in the 6th century, although it remained unusual for several centuries, and even discouraged. When it was used, it seems to have been only during actual services, and probably a processional cross which was detachable from its staff, and placed on the altar after processing. This would at first almost always a cross rather than a true crucifix; these began to be made specifically for altars in the late 11th century, and became more common from the 12th century, though they may have been expensive at first. By the start of the 13th century, treatises by Pope Innocent III expect there to be a cross between two candles on the altar during the mass

Around the 14th century, altar crosses were almost universally replaced by crucifices, probably now affordable by all churches, however, it was not until the Roman Missal of Pius V in 1570 that there is any mention of an obligation to have the crucifix on the altar." (Wiki)

An excellent and thoroughly heartbreaking question to honestly and humbly ask.

Because the second of the 10 Commandments condemns idolatry as a sin of those who hate God (I hope you appreciate the little jesus they have on their crucifixes is an sorrowful example of this serious violation of the 10 Commandments, and worse a denial of the sufficiency of the completed work of Christ, therefore the Mass, and crucifixes)

The short answer is that the RCC does not honor the Bible as being the Law of God, which God rightfully expects to be believed and obeyed, maybe at their convienance or to their own benifit when it suits them, treating the Holy Word of God, the Bible a merely an inspirational book of good suggestions to be adulterated with RC Tradition and the (false) teachings of their magisterium, whenever they feel like it

And Catholics from their clergy to their pews have seared or so calloused their conscience they see nothing wrong with relisting the 10 Commandemnts, erasing idolatry and making two separate commandments against coveting, after all sin isn't that bad, a priest, the rc mary or purgatory(which doesn't even exist) can fix it for Catholics

Hi John, the Word of God explains to us, in fact Christ Himself explains why he must go to the cross, and even scolded Peter when he tried to hinder him. We are also told that His ultimate, once and for all sacrifice on the cross was to cover the sins of mankind, and all future sin. The Roman system that you claim, because they claim to worship the one true God/Christ, etc, is a true church preaches an emaciated, subservient Christ whose work on the cross was not sufficient to really cover our sins after the cross as He tells us. This is what the mass is.John...a continual, literal, resacrifice of Christ because the God of all that is, was, and ever will be was wrong and the church holds mass to correct this error. Do they really preach and worship the same Christ, a Christ they say made such a grievous error that now the church works tirelessly to correct; saving the people that Christ couldn't?

Cease with this nonsense that the Christ that the RCC believes in and worships is not the biblical and historical Christ. The Apostles and Nicene Creeds state "We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God", which is the biblical and historical Jesus that the RCC has always believed in and worshiped.

Excellent point
My exhortation was to not forget the metaphor.

On a personal position, the Greek 'cross' would be better understood as a crossbeam, not an entire cross. Our cross unites creation(tree) with the cross(beam).
I will add, I am offended that RCC orders have polluted the cross to include 'sun crosses' as representations of a cross. A Maltese cross is pure pagan idolatry. Unfortunately, Protestants have been all to eager to join in the false worship

What Christ is referring to is having a heart for Christ. To deny ourselves and give our all to God and His Son.

"We must accustom ourselves to all instances of self-denial and patience, v. 23. This is the best preparative for martyrdom. We must live a life of self-denial, mortification, and contempt of the world; we must not indulge our ease and appetite, for then it will be hard to bear toil, and weariness, and want, for Christ. We are daily subject to affliction, and we must accommodate ourselves to it, and acquiesce in the will of God in it, and must learn to endure hardship. We frequently meet with crosses in the way of duty; and, though we must not pull them upon our own heads, yet, when they are laid for us, we must take them up, carry them after Christ, and make the best of them." Unfortunately SteveR curcifixes are the standard form of pagan amulets used in the Romish Church, ]]http://xcjournal.org/the-errors-of-catholicism/crucifix/ (Crucifix). In this case the crucifix is just as much of an abomination to actual Christians as it is to ]]Muhammadans It would be great if any federal funding is cut off from this Romish school. It's amazing that ]]Muhammadans got our Government to do the right thing.

I thought prayer was banned in schools in America
In the US, prayer is a protected form of free speech even in public schools. Prayer can not be part of a the organized schedule though.

For Catholic institutions, limitations would be based on how much if any federal funding they receive. A likely lawsuit might be some atheists objecting to Federaly back student loans for students of religious institutions that have prayer as part of the school schedule

and for the unholy trinity
Lets not confuse crosses with crucifixes out of silly spite, Christians are commanded to take up their crosses daily

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

I agree sister. It is just another graven image that they make and worship. And their cross is exactly what you said it was; their thoughts of sacrificing our beloved Lord and Savior over and over again. When Christ said it was finished; it was indeed finished.

Aaahh This will be one of the Democrat party's methods of "integration" of all people in America. The socialist-liberal ideology of the Democrats works amongst the people to create all things equal and all cultures absorbed and legal. The only thing the Democrats refuse to accept is right wing authority, such as justice, morals and religion.
