US economy stalls in Q1

U.S. economic growth braked more sharply than expected in the first quarter as harsh weather dampened consumer spending and energy companies struggling with low prices slashed spending, but there are signs activity is picking up.

Gross domestic product expanded at an only 0.2 percent annual rate, the Commerce Department said on Wednesday. That was a big step down from the fourth quarter's 2.2 percent pace and marked the weakest reading in a year.

A strong dollar and a now-resolved labor dispute at normally busy West Coast ports also slammed growth, the government said. ...

I have never been able to tell them apart.

They all belong to a secret Trade Union.

King Solomon said: Eccles.7:12 "For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.

Any nation that refuses to kiss the Son will have to come under his rod of iron, according to Psalm 2. I think that it is reasonable that any nation that has been so privileged with the Gospel of peace would think it a small matter to acknowledge the Prince of peace as the only redeemer of mankind and accordingly acknowledge Him as the God/man and His word as authoritative being that He is the Creator and Sustainer of all men and the only hope that enables a sinner to be reconciled to God.

His Church is the apple of his eye, she is engraven on His hand. Whether it is leaders in Church, loosely 'so called' or her Christ denying National leadership tells her that His word is irrelevant and her Master debatable is very dangerous stance. This mindset hasn't begun with recent church apostasies or Supreme Court decisions. Recent decisions are the fruit of a long standing disregard of God as if one can take Him or leave Him, obey Him, as it suits their pleasure, or No. It's called atheism, in any of its forms.

1) A strong dollar has a negative impact on exports, so we lose the multiplier effect of domestically produced goods in return for a one time benefit of cheaper imports
2) Without the increase of jobs in the domestic oil industry driven by high oil prices, we have a net LOSS of jobs with the current administration. Since many of our wells have $60+/bbl production costs, oil companies are shutting down rigs and laying off. This has a ripple effect in the service economy.
imo- The govt wants a weak economy. A stronger economy with higher interest rates would make our 18 trillion in Debt impossible to service. We can barely make ends meet in a 2% US Bond world...we would BK at 5-7%
This seems to be a fair analysis from Forbes:

Too much missing the picture. A strong dollar is good for people who buy goods or services. It tends to lower the cost of imports. That's good for people who have modest income. Lower oil prices are also good for people who buy gasoline and heating fuel. If they are spending less for fuel, they have more disposable income available for other things. Why is this bad for the economy? If this is an economic stall, may we have more of it. Of course keep in mind that some people see "the economy" differently than they see your economy.

Why should the Almighty bless us economically when we live in a nation of disobedience-idolatry, infanticide, and sexual perversion. No contemporary western politician will admit to disobedience to God.
