No More Boring Sermons, Says Pope to Priests

On Sunday morning Pope Francis ordained 19 new priests, exhorting them to serve the flock rather than manage it, and to feed the people of God with heartfelt homilies rather than boring sermons.

“Let this be the nourishment of the People of God,” Francis said during the ceremony in Saint Peter’s Basilica, “that your sermons are not boring, that your homilies reach people’s hearts because they come from your heart, because what you say to them is what you carry in your heart.”

The Pope also urged the new priests to practice what they preach, so that their good example will bear witness to the truth of their words. A good example builds people up, Francis said, “but words without actions are empty words, they are ideas that never make it to the heart and they can even do harm rather than good!” ...

Who was it who mentioned John Wycliffe, the Morning Star of The Reformation? There is in this quarter's magazine of the Trinitarian Bible Society, a good article about him and his life and death, and about how the Roman church hated him for his work and love for scripture and for needy souls. It can be downloaded as a PDF file for referring to at any time.

For certain the pope is informing the priests of the need to join forces with U.N. and to form one religion of catholic/ environment worship(Mother Earth/mother Mary) , and reinstitute the war against the Protestant faithful remnant.

Indicators of spurious faith are evident whenever people:
1. Desire Christ as a Saviour to procure pardon and peace, but not as a Prophet to instruct them or as a King to rule over them.
2. Desire to be saved from the punishment of sin, but not fom sin itself.
3. Desire the blessings of Christ, but not a relationship with Him.
4.Reject many of Christ's promises because they go against their organizations traditions.
The New Testament warns and gives several examples of non-saving faith.
Temporary..Matthew 13:19
Dead...Ames 2:17
In vain..1 Corinthians 15:2.

John Y.

It just occurred to me that the RCC might not be part of the church Christ purchased with his blood and that is the reason the RCC priest don't give him first place in all things. So, they preach do's and don'ts which only causes people to lie to themselves and others. But the blood of Christ cleanses us and keep cleansing us as we agree with him about our sin.
The scriptures tells us to preach Christ and him crucified. However, there is a time for preaching on the topics you've mentioned; along with the power of Christ to deliver and the consequences of maintaining a lifestyle in willful sin.
The goodness of God leads us to repentance. The strength of sin is in the law. What the law could not do, due to the weakness of our flesh; Christ did ONCE FOR ALL.

1517,
Being clear in my comments doesn't seem to be my strong point today.
Romish priests do not know the gospel of grace, or will not preach it because they are anathematized by their organization.
So my point was in answer to your post to John Y concerning them preaching the gospel...
They neither know it, nor possess it.
All they can preach is sacramentalism and works.

Dorcas,
Jim and Dorcas, perhaps we can see it this way. All things are for our sake. We cannot lose. Their heresy and attempts to keep people in the dark causes us to pray more fervently, study more earnestly as the noble Bereans in preparation to give answers that effectively change the way truth is presented to those captives.
It is true, they cannot give what they have not received.
A good thing is their acknowledgment of having delivered "boring" sermons. Hopefully, many will find saying the rosary boring as well as useless. This realization of something missing just might bring some to the true light. Perhaps they go to the stream of living waters (John 4). I certainly will pray for this to become a reality. May the joy of the Lord become theirs.

Do you ever actually read the comments, Jim?
I was commenting on what 1517 had posted.
RC cult priests can not give to others( the gospel) what they themselves have no knowledge or understanding of, or are possessors of!

Catholics should be told to either fall in line with Catholic teaching and be against abortion, homosexuality and artificial birth control or be excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
Christ purchased the "Church" with his own blood (Acts 20:28), and he should be given pre eminence in HIS CHURCH by preaching Christ crucified He is the power of God, and the wisdom of God (1 Cor 1:23,24).
Further, why can't they simply go to confession as taught? Is it because the person in the Confessional has nothing efficacious to impart and to motivate that confessing individual to repent and lead a godly life?
I thank God, that nothing will ever separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus who did what I could not do. This makes me want to live for and unto him who died for me.
