Five faith facts about Rand Paul: ‘My faith has never been easy for me’

Sen. Randal Howard “Rand” Paul, the junior Republican from Kentucky, launched his 2016 presidential campaign on Tuesday (April 7) in Louisville. Here are five facts about the faith background of this libertarian conservative:

Paul, 52, was baptized an Episcopalian. It didn’t stick. He attended Baylor University, a Baptist school in Texas, then Duke University. He now attends a Presbyterian church. In this, he is like most Americans — all over the map in terms of his religious affiliation.

Yes, we are fortunate. But alas, we have failed to capitalize on that grace and religious liberty which is now being trampled under foot by our political reps. Our saltiness is slowly leeching away where we are treated like mere dirt and our lamps are becoming so dim that we are no longer noticed. We saints both in the US and UK need our flavor strengthened and lamps trimmed in the worst way. Pray that saints in both countries be revived that our reps at least respect our stands on righteousness while we may still (like the widow) come before the judge and plead protection from our adversaries; and he hears us. "Bring us to repentance and revive us again, O LORD!"

Here in the UK, which as an established church and is in the middle of an election, that the last thing any candidate would talk about is personal faith.

The Prime minister did speak in a general way positively about our supposed Christian heritage, but not of any personal faith convictions.

But then is responsible for legalizing sodomite marriages.
In fact two of the other main party leaders are openly atheists.

How fortunate you are in the USA, with out an established church that such issues are and can be spoken about and are considered to be important.

what do you know, a practical secular approach to religion. I guess he doesn't need ]]http://www.biblebb.com/files/REVIVALS.HTM (A Closer Look at Revival and Revival Meetings)

I would rather he had been more doctrinaire in religion and less so in politics. he has it the wrong way around.
