Franklin Graham: 1960s Sexual Revolution Has 'Severely Weakened' America From Within
The Rev. Franklin Graham, president of Samaritans' Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, believes that the sexual revolution of the 1960s has "severely weakened" the United States from within.

"Our culture, like ancient cultures that ultimately were destroyed in large part due to their own moral depravity, has been severely weakened," Graham wrote in the February issue of Decision magazine.

"A stable family unit committed to the truth and precepts of the Bible was once the foundation and backbone of our nation. That model is now the exception, not the rule," he asserted. ...

It is so sad that many people who attend church are trying so hard to save themselves and not loose their salvation. But this ridiculous heresy is precisely what we get from Billy/Franklin Graham.

The dead man cannot be born again by his own decision - a statement which sounds ridiculous - and yet there are many who believe in it, as part of their religion. They exclude the quickening which can only come from God.

John 3:6 "born of the Spirit"
"Born" ~ Thus from the beginning from the very beginning of the work of the Holy Spirit man can do absolutely nothing about coming to Christ.

The Puritans realised this Biblical teaching and so never held the silly evangelical meetings which modern people get up to today. Like the Graham family and their followers.

"of the Spirit" ~ A NEW creature from a brand new beginning - 'OF' the Spirit.

Yet we still get the self savers trying to teach sinners "What they must do" to be saved.

Asking some sinner to make their decision to decide for Christ, is an insult to God. As the Bible teaches God's plan and purpose for the elect is not initiated by some depraved sinner making some decision???

I guess the Graham types think they can control God!!

That's your reading of the Bible. (And Baptist doctrine)
Christians Know different.
Your conviction that man can save himself through his own actions insults God and HIS WORD.
Sinners cannot "trust" in Jesus for salvation.
What you do is cut God out of the deal.
Just like Graham does.
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
I happen to know a lot more about Baptist doctrine because I have a Baptist friend and I have studied the Baptist doctrine of salvation, which comes directly from the Bible. The Baptist doctrine of salvation states that salvation comes only through trusting in Jesus alone for salvation which the Bible states is the way of salvation. Trusting in Jesus alone for salvation is not trying to save ones self. It is the Holy Spirit convicting one to embrace Jesus as ones Savior and trust in Him alone for salvation. My Baptist friend was saved during an Altar Call at his Independent Baptist Church when he was 12 years old.

Billy seemed to have loved being around men of power, perhaps he believed in the trickle down theory of Christianity? You might enjoy reading about the B. Is Franklin ever not in the news? Is he running for office or is he just trying to convince people that the Grahams are devout "Christians" and have people's best interest at heart? As Taurven and Jim Lincoln has pointed out...kind of like the pot calling the kettle black. Until the Grahams correct their own ecumenical, papish theology, they are hardly in a position to try to access the spiritual condition of this country or speak to any Christian topic with any level of credibility.
Possibly the Grahams are in the news so much because it makes people feel good to talk about them. Look at the comments here as evidence. Wonder how long they would be in the news we read if we stopped the chatter?

It is such a burden in this life being a Biblical Calvinist and trying to teach the rest of humanity what the real truth of the Bible is and the correct exegesis of Scripture. But God's strength is made perfect in our weakness.
The Billy Graham family business of save yourself and self assisted salvation originates from the Roman Catholic idolatrous deception. The free will believers who cannot perceive how sin makes them Totally Depraved end up preaching a false witness of sinners who are not affected by sin and a god which requires human help and decisions to save them. UnBiblical idolatry is the hobby of these religious cults.
Thus do we get these Graham style false witnesses whose - "Come on down and make a decision which God has no option but to accept" - are Game Show religion peddlers.
If dear old free willer Franklin Graham knew anything about the Bible then he would be aware that the "Sexual Revolution" is not the source of the weakness of America - It is a symptom of the weak and heretical church doctrine and theologies which have emerged during the last century.
Franklin and family would then see that they are part of the problem - And definitely NOT part of the solution.

Before any quote "Sexual Revolution" came -
Weak churches
Weak theology
Weak doctrines
Weak denominations
and
Weak preaching
thus
Severely weakened America.

The ludicrous ideology of man saves himself poisoned the churches and the Graham tribe bought into this fallacy and many gullible liberal ignorant people bought it from them and fed the Arminian and Liberal churches. Planting this seed in society helped make America what it is today.
