Anti-Christian activist: God raped Mary
Well, just before Christmas Tarico one-upped herself. The liberal impulse to conjoin the illegitimate twins of Christ hating with man hating evidently proved more than she could bear. In a Dec. 21 Salon screed headlined, “Why rape is so intrinsic to religion,” Tarico gratuitously, and despicably, asserts that God raped Mary.

“Powerful gods and demi-gods impregnating human women – it’s a common theme in the history of religion, and it’s more than a little rapey,” she writes.

“The impregnation process may be a ‘ravishing’ or seduction or some kind of titillating but nonsexual procreative penetration,” she adds.

In order to create the illusion that she is comprehensively “anti-religion,” rather than fundamentally anti-Christian, Tarico then pays lip service to a number of mythological stories involving Zeus, Jupiter, Buddha and others, before finally zeroing in on the true targets of her ...

Why are we even bringing up such topics. Does not the squeaky will get the most oil? Well, the more attention paid to this kind of blasphemy, the louder the blasphemer holler. besides this kind of thing weakens the faith of new believers. They wonder why God doesn't slam them. They are weak in the faith and such discussions (which should not be discussed) deter them in many ways.
Our speech should minister grace. Where is grace in this? Where is the fruit of your lips that tend to life? This is a death blow.
If you don't feed the snake, it will starve to death. Don't add fuel to this demonic flame.
Then email the sermonizer and tell him that perhaps he needs to speak about the various judgments of God; without mentionig this godless view.

Delivered from the word of God...

Your statement "Where is the fruit of your lips that tend to life?"

Powerful statement. Thank you for that.

May we all display it.

Brother US,
It is one thing for the Holy Spirit to pen the Words we read in our Bibles and quite another for the ungodly to spew out their blasphemy.
This 'news' heading is offensive and vile it is supermarket trash tabloid sensationalism,
I question the wisdom of SA for posting it.

I actually pretty much agree (sorry Michael H)with the answer me this 11:52 post, no comment on what followed. (Proverbs 26:17) I see SteveR couldn't resist getting his swipe in at those post here, at least he is consistent.

As to the offensive headline taken from the godless psychologist, I agree that it is egregious. Yet if I read my Bible I find my Savior called the devil, a liar, a blasphemer, an illegitimate child born of fornication, a deceiver, a law breaker, a despot, a rebel, etc. I see Him mocked, spit upon, beaten, bruised, cruelly lacerated, pierced, falsely accused and more. The heart breaker in this is that He was wounded for my transgression, bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement of my peace was put upon Him and with His stripes I, the wayward sheep, am healed. Then God said it pleased the Lord to bruise Him and put Him to grief because sinners such as myself were the object of the travail of His soul. Would to God these words would be a source of constant brokenness before my God and incite loving service to His glory.

May this woman be brought to bow in repentance to the One she mocks and become a testimony to the power of the gospel of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mary was not dishonored by God, she was exalted and honored. Read Mary's on testimony on the event, Luke 1:46. She rejoices in God her Saviour and calls Him holy. It is clear there was nothing perverse there. It is a ludicrous claim against a perfect holy God.

Is this your normal demeanor to speak down to those who ask you a question?

You now have the best of both worlds. The weak and the strong receive the same treatment.

Now are you the judge and jury of the entirety of Christendom? Are today's church attenders all ear ticklers, shallow, Biblically illiterate, prayless and hypocritical? Then thank God there are faithful few like yourself to point that out.

Your problem is not what am I going to do, but that you are faulting the church for the actions of the world. Did not Jesus say in the world you will have tribulation? Did He not say the servant is not above the Master, if they spoke ill of Me they will speak ill of you?

Not disputing they are many who profess Christianity but in works they deny Him, but that was obviously true in Paul and Titus day.

What am I going to do? certainly not blame Christians for the acts of the ungodly. If your intention was to be a clarion call to godly living and bold witnessing then follow the example of Paul and John who used the terms "let us"

i.e. let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. (Romans 13:12)

Do You Really Want an Answer?
You might not comprehend this but persecution and blasphemous acts can arise (be provoked in the ungodly) for at least two reasons

1. Obedient believers are (were very much in he early church) a threat to their power. After all we are commanded to preach the Gospel in all creation and it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes

2. Cowardice and Apathy where church attenders and their ear tickling pulpiteers are so shallow, Biblically illiterate, prayerless and hypocritical in their (hate to use the word) faith, and no fear of the Almighty Holy God they profess to love and believe in to where they are known by any kind of real obedience to Him, that they are view as a disqusting joke can likewise embolden blasphemy and persecution, from those who hate God and have no respect for whimpy evanjellyfish either.

I seem to recall Jesus Himself speaking of the worth of salt that has lost its savour

So "answer me this" which do we have going on now? And what would you do about it?

For what it is worth, could we consider the wicked are spewing such blasphemy because they see essentially no real fear of God in our supposed Bible believing churches?
As a contrast imho few liberals would dare blaspheme Allah, Mohammed or the Quran ...... or even speak vilely against BHO and things he has done
Using your point, explain the persecution and blampheous acts of first century Rome and Jews against the church. Was it due to the no power or fear of God in the early church in Acts?
