Three Florida Counties Put an End to Courthouse Weddings to Avoid Performing Gay Marriage Ceremonies

In response to the likelihood that a federal judge will rule that a lift on the state's gay marriage ban will apply to all Florida counties, three Jacksonville-area counties have decided that they'll stop conducting courthouse weddings.

In order to avoid having to perform same-sex wedding ceremonies, clerks of courts in Duval County, Baker County and Clay County have decided to put an end to all courthouse weddings in their counties, The Florida Times-Union reported Wednesday.

Although the report states that the clerks listed multiple reasons for their decision, with the state's limbo over gay marriage being one of them, the decision to stop performing courthouse weddings is due largely to trying to avoid performing same-sex weddings. ...

My point , though not clearly stated is that , gay marriage and the promotion of gay marriage got it's start in no fault divorce. Heterosexual married couples who marry and divorce due to irreconcilable differences have made a mockery of marriage. The stigmas of divorce would be far more grave if when you divorce your wife, it is due to the beatings, adultery , your drug habits, or abandonment. And stated as a cause for the divorce. And yes, there are far more homosexuals in this nation than reported. The reason gay marriage and the gay lifestyle is being shoved done our thoats is not because we're intolerant ; it's because gay men cannot reproduce and their lifespan is shortened by 20 years due too their lifestyle. If your lifestyle kills you, and your a self loathing narcissistic, why not attack the things that remain like God, faith , marriage and children.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, so the saying goes. We have to ask, what would our perception be if they weren't continually in the news? Remember the pre and post election ebola reporting. Yet nothing has changed with ebola.

The homosexual agenda has nothing to do with catering for a small 1.8% minority. It's about subverting the masses, tearing down gender boundaries wholesale. The normalizing of homosexuality is leaven and goes through the whole lump, promotes escalating sexual experimentation and bisexuality, mark that, becomes mainstream and fashionable. A poll of a quarter of a million profiles on OK Cupid, for example, found that up to fifty percent of "straight" females were involved in same-sex activity of one form or another, never mind the rest. Other studies have shown similar results.
This is Mystery, Babylon the Great, mother of harlots and abominations of the Earth, wherein all nations have become drunk with the wine of the filthiness of her fornication (Revelation 17). Satan is working through media brainwashing and films, TV shows, youtube channels, which score millions of hits, to create Sodom and Gomorrah on Earth, which will result in the fire and brimstone judgment of WW3 and the Great Tribulation. Not if, but when.

Frank. As Jesus declares HE did not come to bring peace - But division. Which is something as Christians we all experience and find out sooner or later.
I suppose the reality is that we Christians do learn the hard way that we live in a fallen world and will suffer persecution. We are strangers in a strange land.
Luke 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law."
Thanks for your message; it was actually an encouragment to me and I couldn't agree more with your thoughts. We are supposed to be strangers and aliens in this lost and fallen world and all this evil will pass away one day, but we won't.

Remember Law must precede grace. Matt 5:17-18
You are right that we need to exalt The Lord Jesus Christ who condemned Sodom-as you just did. Love rebukes Sodom's sin.

Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide
a multitude of sins.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. Regarding this issue of homosexuality. Why aren’t we exalting the Person and the Work of Christ. When he is lifted up, the people see him and what he has done. This produces humility and convicts men of sin, righteousness, and the judgment of the evil one. Leave regeneration to God. He’ll draw the sinner to Himself. He’ll convict them of what His requirements are – Micah 6:8. His goodness will lead them to repentance.
This “Listener Comment” blog has become much like CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, AP, Reuters, WSJ, Fox News (especially), Rush L. and the like. If I want to pitch my tent toward Sodom, I’ll go to the movies, watch tv, buy a magazine, or even buy a NEWS paper. Your negative comments are turning Christians away. What you’re doing is giving others excuses to stay away from the church, because they’ll be inspected for blemishes.
Do we really believe that we are the bearers of good news. Are we, by the proclamation of the sins and failures of others, to develop the spirit of condemnation? What are we doing? I would like to read about how the Lord has worked in the hearts of listeners of SermonAudio recordings.
Speak evil of no man. Love covers a multitude of sins. So let us comment on the glory of God revealed through these sermons and articles.

Some folks have this passive protest down cold. The state of Texas had better be prepared, they are the biggest prize for legalizing homosexual marriage. Eventually, big stupid government will be forcing county clerks or their federal replacements to perform homosexual marriage ... For 1.8 percent of the American population, who are gay and wish to marry , it is a small amount of the population that have caused such a mess on marriage. But then, fault free divorce help instigate this tragedy and since that has occurred, some 50% of secularist end their marriage in divorce. True, some marriages do end due to adultery, abandonment and abuse, yet, most end due to irreconcilable differences. Men , honor your wives, wives love your husbands.

Well I, like many others, have family members who are living in homosexual relationships. Now I don't live in any of the counties that stopped courthouse marriages, but if invited to attend any weddings, I will lovingly refuse and tell them why.
