Enquirer: Joel Osteen caught in financial scandal
America’s most popular supermarket tabloid claims famous televangelist Joel Osteen “is caught up in a financial scandal,” using his Houston megachurch to sell his books.

The National Enquirer alleges that New York attorney Richard Garbarini – who previously helped two musicians in an unsuccessful lawsuit against Osteen and his Lakewood Church accusing the church of unauthorized use of a song – is charging that Osteen uses his Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit to hawk his bestsellers.

“He’s leveraging the church as a money-making vehicle! The church pays (to air) his sermons, which are just de facto infomercials to promote his books,” Garbarini purportedly told the Enquirer. “The Lakewood Church is a shell to funnel people to his website so he can sell his books.” ...

Very simply, Christians can warn other Christians about false teachers. I would almost say they have a duty to do so if they know about it. There is no reason to enrich televangelists of dubious character, when you can give to your own local charities and churches first. They should be first on your list anyway. I seriously doubt if any of the people who entertainment servicesshow up here on sermon audio. I would also point out when things get so bad that secular media pay attention to them, q.v., ]]Does God Want You To Be Rich? then it is time for us to pay attention to them.

It sounds as though you've approached him face to face. If not, then you're just talking about him; which could simply be regarded as gossip. Perhaps we need to set aside a day of prayer (imprecatory and otherwise) for his deliverance. It is just that I think sand is being thrown into the eyes of readers and hearers about such men. Pray and ask God for an open door to approach him. I want to see him through pure eyes.
Also, if we stayed in the word and asked for discernment of God's will, He will guide us in the right direction - that being into His heart.

Quite true, Michael, ]]John MacArthur – Joel Osteen is a New Age Religionist, (YouTube) Osteen went to Oral Roberts U., and we know that O. John MacArthur wrote:
The reason for that is obvious: the message of the cross—an atoning sacrifice for sins wrought through Jesus' sufferings—frankly doesn't mesh very well with the notion that God guarantees health, wealth, and prosperity to the righteous.
Speak evil of no man
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 1 Corinthians? ?2?:?15?
The passage that tells us
"To speak evil of no man, "
goes on to command" A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. (?Titus? ?3?:?2-3, 10-11?
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Ephesians? ?5?:?9-13?
Right-we should walk in the Light!
After judgement that a heretic is rejected, you are right that we need waste no more time speaking evil of self condemned covetous false brethren. You are correct that spending time on the positive blessing of Godly teaching is the main thing to fill our new calendar.

Regarding this issue of what man does with his finances. Why aren’t we exalting the Person and the Work of Christ. When he is lifted up, the people see him and what he has done. This produces humility and convicts men of sin, righteousness, and the judgment of the evil one. Leave regeneration to God. He’ll draw the sinner to Himself. He’ll convict them of what His requirements are – Micah 6:8. His goodness will lead them to repentance. This “Listener Comment” blog has become much like CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, AP, Reuters, WSJ, Fox News (especially), Rush L. and the like. If I want to pitch my tent toward Sodom, I’ll go to the movies, watch tv, buy a magazine, or even buy a NEWS paper. Your negative comments are turning Christians away. What you’re doing is giving others excuses to stay away from the church, because they’ll be inspected for blemishes.
Do we really believe that we are the bearers of good news. Are we, by the proclamation of the sins and failures of others, to develop the spirit of condemnation? What are we doing? I would like to read about how the Lord has worked in the hearts of listeners of SermonAudio recordings.Speak evil of no man. Love covers a multitude of sins. So let us comment on the glory of God revealed through these sermons and articles.Haven’t we enou

Now I really feel sorry for this apostate. He is only worth 40 million dollars and his house is only worth 10.5 million. Now when I compare that to my heavenly mansion and eternal life with my Lord, then this fellow is a real pauper.

I'm somewhat surprised that no one has commented on this? Or for that matter, ]]http://piersmorgan.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/26/joel-osteen-apologizing-for-wealth-is-almost-an-insult-to-our-god/ ?

Of course, Osteen's church really doesn't deserve the name that much, more of an entertainment center, but even with conservative churches,

Gil Rugh said or, wrote:
Sin in the church must be dealt with according to the instruction God has given. Within the church - that is the dwelling place of God - blatant immorality cannot be practiced, nor tolerated. When the church fails to carry out its responsibility to deal with sin, God will - and it will be painful to the church and the individual.
summary for ]]How the Church Must Deal with Sin is that fails to work when the head man can act independently of the Board of Elders or the Elders won't take action, this human failing allows people like Driscoll and Osteen to operate. I'm not sure what can be done about this? One thing don't enrich the malefactors, that is within your power.

I was going to say that WND had an excellent article. For information purposes it was, so what did I find inside it? Advertisements to sell this peddler of God's Word-- though many times, any similarity between God's Wordand what Osteen says is purely and accidental occurrence -- so, I am very unhappy with WND.
