Danny Cohen used the platform of a conference in Jerusalem to express his fears over what he identified as growing levels of hostility towards Jewish communities in Britain and in other parts of Europe.
“I’ve never felt so uncomfortable being a Jew in the UK as I’ve felt in the last 12 months. And it’s made me think about, you know, is it our long-term home, actually? Because you feel it. I’ve felt it in a way I’ve never felt before,” he said.
Mr Cohen, 40, the former controller of BBC1, said levels of hatred were on the rise across Europe. “You’ve seen the number of attacks rise, you’ve seen murders in France, you’ve seen murders in Belgium. It’s been pretty grim actually,” he told an audience at Jerusalem Cinematheque at a conference addressing the ability of comedy to drive forward social change....
Prior to the election of barrack Obama , an advisor of the president was asked, what Obama meant by " establishing a policy of "daylight " between the us and isreal's foreign policy relationship. The advisor, indicated that an Obama administration would end the dispensational attributions of us foreign policy towards isreal. Mission accomplished for fundamentally changing the world as we know it.
"the Board of Deputies of British Jews told the Independent that the number of recorded anti-Semitic incidents for 2014 was the highest since records began."
Apparently one of the reasons suggested in the article is the British peoples complaint about the poor Palestinians during the recent fighting between them and Israel. The Brits thought it was unequal commentary on the BBC and that they had favoured the Jews more than the muslims.
Conveniently these people seem to forget the crimes of the Palestinian muslims and that they started the battle in the first place. HAMAS firing their rockets from places where civilians and children were situated so that return fire was perceived as Israel hitting soft targets. Thus obtaining sympathy from those who are anti-Semitic anyway. In Britain we do see the anti-Semitism and the pro muslim groups such as Glasgow City (socialist) Council. They definitely favour the muslim terrorists.
The question is why anti-Semitism? Is this another seed of the evil we saw develop in 1930's Germany?
it's a good article and should be read. I would point out that the British have left their strong philo-Semetic stance that even the structure of the 19th century, but seemed to disappear in the 20th. Charles Spurgeon who was no Dispensationalist was known for his pro-israeli stance. Another interesting commentary.
