Parents failing to protect their children online, survey reveals
Most parents are not using internet safety controls to protect their children from being exposed to inappropriate content online, a survey has found.
Internet Matters, which conducted the survey, said more than 60 per cent of parents had not put parental controls on their children’s toys with online access.
The survey also revealed that more than 40 per cent of parents do not supervise their children’s internet usage, and almost a third did not know how to set up internet filters on their children’s devices....
The children are probably going to the websites that their parents go to any way. It would be a bit hypocritical. How about not allowing what is deemed as illegal on the internet to begin with? If it's illegal activity to begin with, what makes it appropriate to be on the internet? Actually having thugs/prostitutes in your house engaging in their activity is wrong but watching it is okay? Did it ever occur to anyone other than Satan that repeatedly showing people profane things might desensitize them to those things, minimally, and maybe encourage people into partaking of such activity. At the very least, smut creates situation ethics.
