CO Governor Slams Homeschooling

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper said at a lunch yesterday that individuals can’t educate young people well, if at all, themselves. This will come as a surprise to the thousands of homeschool and school choice families across the state. If you are a homeschool parent, or believe there are educational advantages in pulling your child out from under government’s pervasive bureaucratic control, Hickenlooper’s assertion might offend you.

Sorry, Mike of N.Y., I said your name right, Google speech sometimes can't here right. By the way, that NYTimes article is interesting. People in home schooling should like reading it.

Meanwhile on the East Coast, ]]Home Schooling: More Pupils, Less Regulation--Pennsylvania This is an interesting article.

Mic of New York, we learn something everyday.

Speaking of snow, I remember last yr, at the start of the snow bundling everybody up, only to get outside and have it stop snowing. That all we got in my neck of the woods.

John Y., I know enough about Colorado climate, and while the Chinook winds certainly make the lands of before the frontal range more pleasant, than they would be otherwise, it's still no Southern California. Yes, in the summer the weather can be very pleasant there, my family spend quite a few vacations in Colorado, during the summer months, and the climate is superior to Eastern Nebraska in the summer. Anyway, go read the article about the Chinook winds, one thing you'll get too many positive ions instead of those healthy ]]Negative Ions. There must be a lot of positive ions in Catholic Churches, that's why you should ]]Come Out of the Catholic Church, but as this article points out avoiding the stench of incense would be a very minor reason for leaving the Romish Church, there are plenty other of reasons as well!

Gov. Chicken*ooper barely squeaked or squacked by being reelected. I am a native Coloradan and migrated to Kansas. No regrets.

Well, this fellow must have been public schooled or in a parochial school, because he's quite ignorant of the advantages of home schooling, q.v., ]]NET: Home School Nebraska, an interesting video, and of course concerns by "professional" educators, because on the whole, home school kids are better educated. Note these children didn't attend public school, ]]Meet the 'Brainy Bunch,' family with 7 kids in college by age 12

people are being forced into one of two directions. those who accommodate the new order and those who follow God.

He's making a clear declaration of who he serves. They are spiritual slaves.

It appears like Hickenlooper is demon possessed for being against homeschooling.

Kevin Swanson is in that neck of the woods and a better friend for Christian homeschoolers could not be asked for. Many prayers for him, his family and church as they continue to work in the state of Colorado. (What happened to Colorado? They used to be a conservative state. Boulder. Ugh - slime has a way of never staying in the gutter.)
