"Planners say they hope Friday's service at the historic cathedral will foster more understanding and acceptance between Christians and Muslims"

Both these Nominal Christians and the Reprobate Muslims can "pray" their heads off. Nobody is listening to them.

Jer 14:11 Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good. 12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Dominionism, the religous take over of the world as some hyper-Calvinistic and/or Charismatic types promote is utterly wrong
But so is abandoning everything to the devil. God may allow/permit those who love sin, self and evil to have their passing pleasures of sin but we shoud not forget:
So brother go find you some wicked who have forsaken the law of God and are praising the wicked, and for Jesus' sake earnestly contend with them
as an example for all of us: [URL=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxDyfSHEq5g]]]Babies Are Murdered Here[/URL]

Hey brother, as long as our goal is to [15] And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mar 16:15 KJV), then I don't have objections. The problem is that most who focus on changing or improving culture, as an end in itself, end up as ecumenicalists and man-pleasers and become friends of the world. I agree with the below of course and Christians should do this.

Proverbs 28:4
They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

But so is abandoning everything to the devil. Even if it is an apostate Cathedral hosting, inviting in Satan himself, God may allow/permit those who love sin, self and evil to have their passing pleasures of sin but we shoud not forget:

Dominionism.

[19] [And] we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. [20] And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. (1Jo 5:19-20)

[1] If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. [2] Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (Col 3:1-2 KJV)

[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (Mat 28:19 KJV)

[15] And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mar 16:15 KJV)

[47] He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear [them] not, because ye are not of God. (Jhn 8:47 KJV)

[36] Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. (Jhn 18:36 KJV)

[11] Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; (1Pe 2:11 KJV)

Excuse me, NO!
Let me propose something different, and tell you why

First, let's REPENT, thoroughly big time RPENT for abandoning to the Devil, the enemy of Jesus Christ and those under his control and influence, this country, the world, politics, education, music, the poor, government, health care, marriage, abortion, our very own children _ literally name anything you want, even this wicked Cathedral, Synagogue of Satan it may be (perhaps in the will of God it might appropriately be turned into a latrine)

Second, or even first if you will, let's so seek God that we rediscover the IMMEASURABLE WORTH OF JESUS CHRIST, of knowing Him, loving Him, trusting in Him and obeying Him, of following Him (even if it meas me die!) and serving Him, of praying in His Name, for the Kingdom of God to Come, His will be done, His power and glory known on earth until it is.

in all this imho we need to seek Him, to seek His wisdom because the two battleground in this war are 1 the world and 2 our own religous world and only Christ can lead us, in which battles to fight, in which order, to see real victory

Can we really expect anything else from any nation and any denomination (the Cathedral is essentially Episcopalian) that delibrately hates and despises obedience to the word of God?

Boy, just look at what the new age of tolerance and political correctness has brought to the table. The sodomites are now being glamorized and having laws re-written for them on their fast and furious rise to power, and the Muslims who are sworn to convert or kill us; the Muslims who are murdering, raping, maiming, and torturing the world over are being coddled, swooned, and given outlr tax dollars to build and re-build thier mosques. Now, here we have the continuation and culmination of Pope John Paul's claim that we all worship the same God, bringing us even closer to a one world religion as the Muslims are invited in as if they are children of the same god and heaven bound.

Understanding and acceptance between Christians and Muslims? Are they insane or what? There can't be any understanding and acceptance between Christians and Muslims as Christianity is of God and Islam is of Satan.
