Pope Francis challenges with question: How is your faith?
During his Angelus address Sunday Pope Francis reflected on the Gospel account of Saint Peter's recognition of Jesus as the Lord, urging those present to honestly evaluate their own faith.

“Brothers and sisters, what happened in a unique way in Saint Peter, also takes place in every Christian who develops a sincere faith in Jesus the Christ,” he told crowds gathered in St. Peter's Square on Aug. 24.

“Today's Gospel challenges each of us: How is your faith? Let each of us answer in our heart. How is your faith? How is it? What does the Lord find in our hearts: a firm heart, like a rock? Or a heart like sand, that is, doubtful, mistrustful, unbelieving?” ...

I am no Adventist Jim Lincoln, but The Sabbath Day is still Biblically valid for Christians, and adventists are not the only group who accept the Sabbath Day (different than feast day "sabbaths" plural which are entirely different).

Adventists are little different than most all Pentecostals though, they accept modern day prophets and some idiotic heresy about Jesus cleansing heaven or something like that and soul sleep, other than that most all Pentecostals are way more heretical then they are since Pentecostals will come up with new revelations every day since most all of them believe in it, SDA's just have their Ellen G. White revelations which are false but compared to modern day Pentecostals like Todd Bentley, NAR, etc they are small time heretics. Calvinism is as much a heresy to me as Ellen G. White soul sleep and vegetarianism.

Every man must decide what level of heresy he will accept or reject including you Jim Lincoln and including me. Each of us is a heretic to each other in some way or another.

Dylan, I read a commentary from a former Seventh-Day Adventist preacher, who after becoming a Christian and is trying to lead Seventh-Day Adventists to Christianity. He pointed out many of them avoid reading the Bible so they won't see where some of their beliefs contradict Scripture. Ellen G. White was not a prophetess, http://www.exadventist.com/home/video/tabid/502/default.aspx (Seventh-day Adventism
The Spirit Behind the Church)
. Perhaps a milder look at the SDA would be, http://www.jashow.org/wiki/index.php?title=Seventh-day_Adventism (Seventh-day Adventism). No doubt it takes less time.

Anyway, Dylan, and others good points about http://www.fbbc.com/messages/catholic_herisies.htm (List of Heresies and Human Traditions Adopted and Perpetuated by the Roman Catholic Church in the Course of 1600 Years.)

I never have and never will have any "faith" in the ancient pagan cult of the queen of heaven or any of its heresies and blasphemies.

People are so abhorrently stupid, they have the bible freely to read and they refuse it every single day for their pagan stupidities, superstitions and heresies and they refuse to listen to the righteous men who warn them of the lies of their stupidity.

Yes, we all acknowledge that you do love to bask in your spiritual ignorance. So what's the cure for spiritual ignorance? Oh sorry, you're ignorant so don't know. Go bask some more.

John Y., Let's make this easier for you. We do not know if this Pope is the Antichrist. This is what Martin Luther had to say about the Pope of his time period.
Martin Luther wrote:
We here are of the conviction that the Papacy is the seat of the true and real Antichrist. I owe the Pope no other obedience than that I owe to Antichrist.…I am persuaded that if at this time St. Peter in person should preach all the articles of holy Scripture and only deny the Pope's authority, power and primacy and say that the Pope is not the head of all Christendom, they would cause him to be hanged. Yet if Christ Himself were again on earth and should preach without all doubt, the Pope would crucify Him again.
excerpt from, http://www.gty.org/Resources/Print/Sermons/90-291 (The Pope and the Papacy).

John, I would suggest you read part two of those two articles I put up, "Peter the first Pope?--Part two." I would also suggest you read part one.

Westminster Confession
14/1. The *GRACE* of faith, whereby the ELECT are enabled to believe to the saving of their souls,[a is the WORK of the Spirit of Christ in their hearts,[b and is ordinarily wrought by the ministry of the Word;[c by which also, and by the administration of the sacraments and prayer, it is increased and strengthened.[d

a. Heb 10:39. • b. Eph 1:17-19; 2:8; 2 Cor 4:13. • c. Rom 10:14, 17. • d. Luke 17:5; Acts 20:32; Rom 1:16-17; 4:11; 1 Pet 2:2.

2. BY THIS FAITH a Christian believeth to be true whatsoever is revealed in the Word, for the authority of God himself speaking therein;[a and acteth differently upon that which each particular passage thereof containeth; yielding obedience to the commands,[b trembling at the threatenings,[c and embracing the promises of God for this life and that which is to come.[d But the principal acts of saving faith are accepting, receiving, and resting upon Christ alone for justification, sanctification, and eternal life, by virtue of the covenant of grace.[e

a. John 4:42; Acts 24:14; 1 Thes 2:13; 1 John 5:10. • b. Rom 16:26. • c. Isa 66:2. • d. 1 Tim 4:8; Heb 11:13. • e. John 1:12; Acts 15:11; 16:31; Gal 2:20.

There are two types of "faith" in the world.
First there is faith the gift of God.
Second there is faith the faculty of man.

The gift of God is provided for and to the elect only, by God himself.

The faculty of the mortal is a delusion an example of which is found at Matthew 7:21-23.

The Roman Catholics fall into the second category so practice things like idolatry, blasphemy and heresy.
