Apostasy Rising: 4 Denominations In Less Than a Week Defy God's Word

The United Church of Christ (UCC) bills itself as "the church where God is still speaking." Apparently, God's Word is falling on deaf ears of the leadership.

The UCC, which considers itself a mainline Protestant denomination—claiming over 1 million members and about 5,200 congregations in the U.S.—proudly announced it will serve as a major sponsor of the Gay Games. The UCC will now go down in Christian history as the first major denomination to sponsor the homosexual Olympics when the games roll into Cleveland, Ohio, in August. ...

Words are words. Anyone can say anything and be anything with their words, but can they back up what they say?
It always pays to have someone who has been in an apostate church speak out, as usual Chris, an excellent comment to John Y.

Denominations can be fine when their theology is sound, they can keep all their churches on track, but on the other hand when their theology goes bad, they lead many churches astray. Should point out the largest is the Romish Church -- followed by the Orthodox churches, ]]What's So Wrong With The Eastern Orthodox Church?

This is what I hate. When a "Christian" denomination gives out bad information and injects a spirit of confusion among well meaning people. I personally know more than a handful of little old Christian ladies who get led astray by groups like these because on the surface you want to believe that God loves everyone.

Unfortunately, there are many things that God hates. Homosexuality is among those things called abominations. It is plainly stated in the Bible. By accepting the lifestyle...and celebrating it...you (the royal you) give the false idea to the homo that they are right with God...which they are not. This puts you and them at risk for Hellfire. The sin that isn't forgiven is the one that you don't ask forgiveness for.you are deceived.

When the homos of the world do as they do--it doesn't surprise me. They are openly, unapologetically in rebellion against God. The shame comes when people who should have a little more discernment bow to the pressure of the politically correct world. Remember though it is God's word that is true, and all men are liars!

Fuller Theological Seminary now countenances life-long, same-sex marriages as a Christian "alternative." You can easily trace that back to when they officially changed they're standard on biblical inerrancy to an unbiblical one, thereby undermining the authority of Scripture. From there on in, it was downhill for Fuller.
Precisely put. We are seeing this happen before our very eyes. There is a great hail (or heil) going up to the great god Higher Criticism concerning the Bible. It takes time, but the aim will be achieved in many, many churches, and especially in the seminaries which are churning out pastors who no longer believe in the inerrancy of scripture.

"its first openly gay church executive, calls it a social justice issue and says the denomination prides itself on "being a bold voice for progressive Christianity.""

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

God gives them over to a reprobate mind....

Rom 1:26 For this cause GOD GAVE THEM UP unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, GOD GAVE them over to a REPROBATE MIND, to do those things which are not convenient;

Thanks for you response DanUSA.

Can we be more holy? After all God has called us not to uncleanness but unto holiness. (I Thess. 4:7)

Consider the truths in the following verses of Scripture if you will.

II Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

The verbs perfecting and follow (meaning pursue, Paul used the same word when he stated he pressed toward the mark) are both present tense active voice greek words. (in the imperative mood in the latter verse) That indicates a continuous action performed by the subject. If holiness was just a standing we have in God, why would we see admonished to perfect and pursue it?

Peter reminded us to be holy as God is holy. The word "be" is an action verb, why would he admonish us actively become something we have already obtained?

I would suggest you do some diligent search of the Scriptures to see if what I say is so. Ryle's book is an excellent resource also in this matter as well as Bridges book on the Pursuit of holiness.

Hope this is helpful. God bless.

I wonder if you are referring to this text, Dan?

1 Corinthians 1:30-31 KJV
(30) But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
(31) That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

I agree with US, you seem to have the two confused. Perhaps this quote will help you out:

"In sanctification, something is actually imparted to us, in justification it is only imputed. Justification is based entirely on the work of Christ wrought for us, sanctification is principally a work wrought in us. Justification respects its object in a legal sense, and terminates in a legal change-a deliverment from punishment, a right to the reward. Sanctification regards its object in a moral sense, and terminates in an experimental change both in character and conduct-imparting a love for God, a capacity to worship him acceptably, and a meetness fo heaven. Justification is by a righteousness without us; sanctification is by a holiness wrought in us. Justification is by Christ as Priest and has regard to the penalty of sin; sanctification is by Christ as King and has regard to the dominion of sin-the former cancels its damning power, the latter delivers from its reigning power."

- A.W. Pink, an excerpt from "The Doctrine of Sanctification"

Please if you may...
but with confusing Justification from sanctification, not so with me.

Sanctification is a process because I am still LIVING in my old tent. Thus I must grow into maturity of the Faith, but it does not make me more sanctified, more holy, nor much more righteous than when I first became born again…
because my sanctification is Jesus Christ.

I am justified with the Gospel, and I am sanctified with the same Gospel once for all.

Ah, DanUSA,may I please venture into to conversation here to offer what I hope will be helpful. There is probably no better work in such a concise fashion as J C Ryle's consideration of the subject of sanctification in his classic work on Holiness. You seem to confuse justification with sanctification. May I encourage you to read it at the following website, or you can download mp3 files from SA but the chapters don't follow the various breaks in reading and the reader doesn't finish the book.

the latter URL is the one for the SA site where you can download and listen to the vast majority of the book if you wish. God bless.

For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
II Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ....
I Corinthians 3:1-2 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Revelation 2:4,5 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent...
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded

Growing in Christ makes you efficient and useful for God.
