Jesus statue decapitated in South Carolina, man cites the Ten Commandments as the cause

A concrete statue of Jesus on the lawn of a Charleston, South Carolina church was beheaded Sunday morning, and the vandal was apprehended shortly afterward.

Charles Jeffrey Short was seen by witnesses, and later admitted, knocking the head off the Sacred Heart Catholic Church statue with a sledgehammer.

"I think I used a sledge hammer to strike the statue about six or seven times, because the second or first commandment states to not make an image of a male or female to be on display to the public," he told the Charleston police officer. ...

There are no "Christian", biblical aspects of christ-mass or ishtar any more than there could be with glaad or the lgbt.
Idolatry and vain traditions are antithetical to the Bible.

John, I think the issue everyone takes with Christmas, Easter, and the like, are the symbolisms retained from pagan crossover after Constantine declared Christianity the worlds religion. They are too numerous to list, but things like the Easter bunny represents ishtar, and the eggs, fertility rites, the Christmas tree, a yule log, which were children burnt alive during sacrifices to Molech as drums beat loud to mask the screaming infants, and the list goes in. Nothing wron with celebrating Christ's birth, etc,in a personal way, but rather, the holidays themselves, where they came from, how they evolved, , along with the carried over symbolisms, etc, are what cause the issues.
I agree that the secular aspects of Christmas and Easter are pagan but the biblical aspects of Christmas and Easter are not pagan. So there is nothing unscriptural about the biblical aspects of Christmas and Easter.

As I have told you before that is not what the 2nd Commandment says.
"4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"
Thou shalt not even "MAKE" an image.
Graven means man made.
The Hebrew at this point states
""peh'-sel
From H6458; an idol: - carved (graven) image."" (Strongs)
So John this statue and all the other statues and statuettes and icons you have in your Roman Catholic organisation are "graven images" and are part of the idolatry of your popish false church.
Also your crucifix which you hang around your neck is a graven image and an example of your idolatry.
As many have said before on site John, Get yourself to a real church which doesn't practice idolatry.
I don't wear a Crucifix. I don't know where you got the idea that I wear a Crucifix? And it further states in Exodus that idolatry means to bow down to and pray to a graven image. Simply owning graven images without bowing down to and praying to them does not constitute idolatry. If that was the case then Luther would not have been guided by the Holy Spirit to retain statue of Jesus and Crucifixes in the Lutheran Church.

Shiboloss...would you please tell us where to find the scripture that allows for images that depict the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Can't seem to locate it in my Bible.

Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

Fallen man, even when equipped with the HOLY SCRIPTURES will suppress the truth in unrighteousness. For gain or pleasure he will appoint himself with authority like Gideon and destroy or take what is unlawful.
This story dovetails into the Zionist thread as the Talmud, like this criminal, abuse Scripture for lawless deeds. The mitzvah of zionism was born in the 13th Cent by Moshe ben Nahmanides(Ramban). Ramban was an antichrist known for his debate with Pablo Christiani at the 'Disputation of Barcelona.' Ramban was a mystic that consulted w/demons for his theology and author of parts of the Talmud. Not just the denial of Christ, but the violent retaking of Palestine. He imposed the religious law of Zionism using mysticism and abuse of this Scripture

Numbers 33:52 Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places: Numbers 33:53 And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.

Those who back todays wicked deeds in Palestine are spiritual allies with Ramban

My thoughts are a bit different on this. Although he was off base with his facts, what concerns me is what he tells others as a witness. His facts are so discombobulated here that I have to wonder how much of God's Word he has twisted, or just plain wrong for his own self or for his witness to others.

Sorry cont- and I actually set out to vandalise them myself and the holy spirit stopped me as I was praying about it - anyway we street preached the venue and the council worker who put the signs up actually got convicted and removed them - he was actually the only person who could righteously remove these offensive things- I think this situation needs much prayer and a righteous approach ???

It is a good thing to have in the church the risen and ascended Christ, by his Spirit. And without his presence, the church goes through mere form, and very little happens except churchianity in abundance.

Revelation 3:19-22 KJV
(19) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
(20) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
(21) To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
(22) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

RC Sproul states this on his site:

The Lord is invisible (1 Tim. 1:17), and so the divine image cannot be pictured. Yet Scripture allows for images that depict the humanity of Jesus as well as pictures of redemptive events and themes in our churches. These can be idolatrously abused, but the solution is not the disuse of images. Instead, the answer is the right use of beautiful art that bears witness to the loveliness of Christ.

What a total nut job Short is. The Second Commandment states idolatry is to bow down to and pray to a graven image. It is not idolatry to simply own a statue of Jesus. Luther was guided by the Holy Spirit to retain the use of statues of Jesus, the Crucifix and pictures of Jesus in the Lutheran Church. Short violated two city ordinances which are trespassing and destruction of private property.
