School Shooter Had Problem With 'Sinners'

In searching Jared's home, detectives found a journal in which he described a plan to kill classmates. A source close to the investigation said Padgett called some people "sinners,'' railing against those who smoked cigarettes or took the Lord's name in vain.

His family never saw that anger.

The last time Fields was with her nephew was at a religious event in March. Jeff Fields, her husband and Jared's uncle, was baptized into the Mormon church. Jared, who grew up Mormon and was active in the Hartley Park Ward in Gresham, was thrilled, sharing hugs all around, Jeff Fields said.

"I love my nephew," Jeff Fields said. "Jared was a good kid up until this point. I just don't know what it was that made him do what he did." ...

It's hard to know whether this is a demagogue's statement, or just another trolling attempt.

DJ from Indiana writes:
That's been a struggle for me all my life.

Hi DJ, to me, the difference is very simple and apparent. Do those who preach, judge, condemn, and constantly wave their fingers, saying,"tisk, tisk, tisk" emulate Christ themselves; being the example for those they accuse, or do they just accuse? Do those who judge, condemn, and preach the law with a militant bent show the love of Christ within them by doing it all with love, concern, and humility, or do their condemnations and accusations begin and end with legalism void of any evidence that their concern and finger pointing is from Christ? Do you love your neighbor as your self and love the Lord with all your heart? If so, you would never be guilty of any of the above. Neither would you, whether you disagree on certain points or not, ever accuse other saints of being possessed or tools of Satan.

WCF 25/6
VI. There is no other head of the Church but the Lord Jesus Christ. Nor can the Pope of Rome, in any sense, be head thereof; but is that Antichrist, that man of sin, and son of perdition, that exalts himself, in the Church, against Christ and all that is called God.

Ah yes!

WCF 14/2
But the principal acts of saving faith are accepting, receiving, and resting upon Christ alone for justification, sanctification, and eternal life, by virtue of the covenant of grace.

Ah yes!

Not accepting, not receiving, and not resting upon Christ will leave you unsaved.

Think about it. Do you have Jesus? Have you received him as your Saviour?

Kind of like... cursing someone who blesses you?
in various ways man completely distorts the light of the law, whatever its precise character, and suppresses it in unrighteousness for wicked ends. In doing so he renders himself without excuse before God.

John UK and the Arminian brigade will attack you for saying it like that. They believe they get a piece of the action in saving themselves.
There are some active arminists and some inactive presbies, and I think I know which ones God prefers, as he will show on the Day of Judgment.

Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that is indwelt by the Holy Ghost (oops, not really).....He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved.

Until you truly believe, I shall keep reminding you that you MUST believe, if you want to be justified and saved. You MUST humble yourself before God and cry out, "God be merciful to me, a sinner."

You think it is something to jest about? It is most serious and eternal issues you deal with here.

I don't give two hoots for your so-called Presby theology. If it bears no fruit, it's no good to me. This is what you need: "He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."

What this verse is saying is that he that hath THE SON hath life, and he that hath NOT the SON OF GOD hath NOT life. Think about it. Do you have Jesus? Have you received him as your Saviour?

Not really

It figures that sinful men will abuse the Mosaic for wicked purposes, but I would argue that all of Adams posterity has this ailment not just Mormons. We are only saved with the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, not of ourselves
