Many Americans Scramble Their Scripture

The Bible encourages the “repression of women,” and it’s silent on such fraught topics as war or slavery.

As least, that’s what about one in five U.S. adults believe. But they’re wrong.

The American Bible Society’s annual “State of the Bible” survey reveals “the people of the book are not people of this book,” said Geof Morin, chief communication officer for the society.

“We know 88 percent of people say they have a Bible. They think: ‘I have a Bible. I have had one for a long time. I must know what’s in it.’ But people overestimate their knowledge,” Morin said. ...

I'm confused. Hammack resigned the ministry, SermonAudio's account is inactive. Then why - WHY does his sermons still show up under searches and in the list of their 25k pastors? You see him in the list, but can't listen to anything. WHY? I don't see the purpose here. If he is gone - then delete him off the site. Having his picture come up with a sermon title doesn't do any of us any good. All it does is confuse us. SermonAudio needs to clean up their library and get rid of the stuff that isn't applicable anymore.

I didn't see this comment of yours, Matt, John MacArthur would agree with you,
Should Fallen Pastors Be Restored?

Did anyone address the article. I don't think I even did! The important thing is get a Bible you'll actually read This article can help you with that. Comparing Bible Translations

Trevor H,...don't know your situation ...there but for the grace of God go any one of us. If it was adultery, I would think that few could throw a stone, as looking upon one to lust is comparable. Chances are that you've felt the bite of sin. Now, I pray that you are restored and taste of God's mercy. His grace is truly amazing and when He picks us up and the dust settles, sometimes it's easier for us to see more clearly for then we are more aware of who is holding us up.

I guess I'm going to have to read past the title of some of these threads which somethings have little or nothing to do what title would seem to suggest, e.g., .

This article apparently has more to do with, Biblical Distinctions Between Men & Women

I get sound words from my church so I rarely feel the need to listen outside it, not that there isn't a lot of good material out there. So, one would hope Trevor Hammack, who has resigned his pastoral position will now at least have more free time to read the Scriptures for comfort.

Due to a very serious personal matter Pastor Hammack has decided it is best to resign as pastor and to stop online ministry activities. He feels this is the right thing to do for the following reasons:
1. To protect the name of Christ from shame and slander
2. For the good of his Church
3. For the good of his family
4. For the good of his health
Thank you for all of your support.

Gil Rugh said or, wrote:
The Bible is God's communication to man concerning who He is, how sinful man can be in a personal relationship with Him and how to live in that relationship.

This communication is perfect, as God is perfect and unchanging in its truthfulness and relevance because God who spoke it is truthful and unchanging.

The challenge for us is to approach the Bible to learn and study what it says without reading into it what we want it to say. There are certain principles that can be applied that will allow us to rightly divide the Word and understand what God has said, and what He meant when He inspired the men who wrote it down. The basic rules of interpretation discussed follow the literal, grammatical, historical hermeneutic.

summary for the sermon, Principles of Bible Interpretation.

Sorry for being of subject but does anyone know why Trevor Hammack sermons are no longer available on SermonAudio
A few months or so ago Trevor asked for donations to keep his ministry active here on SA. So it could be financial issues, or he is just taking some time off.

Anyways, I liked him as well
