Controversial ad shows 'Jesus enjoying a sandwich and a blunt'
A Seattle restaurant chain is taking advantage of an odd combination of circumstances by creating a controversial Easter promotion featuring Jesus smoking marijuana.

Easter Sunday falls on April 20, or 4/20. The term 420 is also pop cultural term for smoking marijuana.

For the last two years, the Lunchbox Laboratory has used Jesus holding a sandwich to promote an Easter day 2-for-1 promotion of its signature dish called "Burger of the Gods."

They are all pertinent because they attempt to portray Jesus within a man made culture,Jesus is above man's culture and bias and what we consider good and bad,do any of us from our sinful and biased perspective know what Jesus is offended by most in the way we portray him ?

Ok, no...he shouldn't be characterized in all of those other ways, but neither should any one way be minimalized because the other way haven't or are not being addressed. The topic at hand, one of the ways, this time around, was Christ being characterized as a pot smoking hippie getting his munchie fix. When he is characterized in the other ways mentioned, I would and will take just as much offense on a headline by headline basis but won't trivialize any particular thing just because there are other examples not mentioned that are not pertinant to the story at hand.

Everything else aside, I think Christ, the Lord and Savior of mankind; the creator of all that is, was, and ever will be shouldn't be characterized as an illegal, mind altering pot smoking, berry picking, stoner hippie who needs his munchie fix. I don't agree that it's ok to characterize the God of the universe as a proponent and user of mind altering drugs, that if nothing else, are gateways to a life apart from the Bible and harder drug use. The other issues mentioned are issues in and of themselves but the topic at hand, for me, is the complete degeneration of a respect for the creator. The world is turning Christ into some sort of comedy act to be laughed at and ridiculed.
So what makes this any different "everything else aside" simply attempts to dismiss the many ways in which Christ is falsely characterized,he is characterized as supporting the evil and wicked welfare state, homosexuality, evil government etc etc.

I don't think he should be characterized as giving clean needles to drug addicts, welfare to women who can't keep their legs closed and men who hate work,r as a tree hugging earth muffin.

The legality is not an issue, abortion is legal and I have heard people say Jesus would support that to

The subject of Pot is riddled with cultural bias and hypocrisy,a picture of Jesus smoking Pot is no more blasphemous than a picture of him drinking Wine which he in fact did,no more blasphemous in regard to health and treatment of the body than a picture of him with a Big Mac,a greasy bucket of KFC or a super sized order of Fries....an extra large bag of Doritos and a 7-11 Big Gulp...or a picture of Jesus so obese he can hardly walk and taking a Witch's brew of prescription Drugs because of it.

Nobody wants to get in the way when the church services are over in this area and the congregation waddles into one of the local feed troughs to tie on the old holy ghost feed bag and eat until they can hardly breath.

To be certain, the greater denomination of all things have been hitting fever pitch of late. Perhaps not to the ongoing extent that the trumpet of the LORD hit, when he descended upon mount Sinai, but, one can hardly set one foot out of the door, without putting both feet into nothing so desirable. But God be praised and thanked for all things, especially that the battle is the LORD's, and it is his own namesake on the line (he is not mocked): if it will be possible, we will live peacefully with all men.

It's not controversial, it's blasphemy and should be called such.

Just another great example of the state of the US, the brave new, anything goes, US...no fear of the God of the universe but continues to make the claim of being a Christian nation. Christ is assaulted so often, and everywhere one looks that it's no longer news, surprising news, that is. The Muslims would declare jihad if Muhammed was treated the same, not to mention Mr OBama would hijack the airwaves to condemn such a hateful act. Nobody cares about the creator anymore.
