David Cameron Says Britain Must Stand Up Against Global Christian Persecution
British Prime Minister David Cameron has said Christianity is now the most persecuted religion around the world, and that Britain should be "unashamed" in standing up against persecution of Christians and other religious groups.

"I hope we can do more to raise the profile of the persecution of Christians around the world," Cameron said in an opening speech at his Easter reception at Downing Street. "It is the case today that our religion is now the most persecuted religion around the world. I think Britain can play a leading role in this."

Cameron said Britain had met its obligations in terms of the aid it gives to countries around the world. "We're seen as a country which is engaged internationally." ...

Sorry, you are not making sense to me. All I did was put out a passage of Scripture and that means I don't love the Lord Jesus Christ??? I surely need to love Him more, but I find your post confusing, you are arguing with the Lord's own words.

1. Don't you possess a Christian heart which cries out 'come Lord Jesus, come soon'?
2. Are you not a Christian who lives in a place where you do not belong and suffer trial and tribulation?
3. Are you perfectly happy and content with this fallen and iniquitous society to continue as it is doing?
1. Sure.
2. Sure.
3. Of course not.

However, there is no biblical basis whatever that the Lord will rain down fire and brimstone on an individual country like the UK because of a few weirdos. In this you are greatly mistaken.

And like US has already said, you have a wrong spirit in you if you yourself hope and pray for such a thing. You would be biblically correct if you prayed for God's grace upon his enemies.

So if you are currently building a fire and brimstone-proof underground shelter for yourself and your famly, I could advise you on better ways of parting with your cash. Get some tracts and go give them out to sinners who need to hear the gospel. This is much better.

I think it looks like the PM is speaking like more and more around the world will. Protect Christians and Christianity! But ... the catch is, that doesn't include the bad fundamentalists! We're the ones who believe and follow GOD at His Word. There's plenty of room in the coming system for all the other "christians".

Och John I always thought you were Welsh, just love the Welsh but I suppose as you're my brother in the Lord I can love you too.
Sorry about that, Elise. But I do feel more Welsh than English now. I feel as though I've come home, and I shall be buried here. Yes, the saints have this in common, that they "love one another", no matter what colour or country of origin. It is the indwelling of Jesus Christ that transforms our thinking.

I suspect that there is such a backlash of traditional supporters of his party against his championing of same sex marriage that these comments that he makes about christian persecution are just a ploy by him to get back support for his party from very upset grass route voters regarding same sex marriage

Hello John...IF Scotland get independence we won't be any better off, we will still have Brussels ruling over us, independence is Alex Salmons dream just as " gay " marriage was.
Elise, times have changed dramatically, and we cannot expect it to improve except revival comes. But God is in total control, nevertheless. He sees his people, knows their plight. Our hand is to the plough, and we shall never look back. The offscouring of the world will march on in victory, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. While the world goes quickly mad, we shall be the only ones in our right minds. The coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Yes, I'm afraid so. You know what it's like at Westminster. We vote in the Tories and then when the people get fed up with them they vote in Labour. It just goes round in circles. I never vote, to register my disgust. And I tell them if they come to the door touting for votes.
You'll be okay though, when the scots vote for independence. At least it will all be more local.

Thanks for the education John. Scottish is still considered British, correct?
No-one knows any more Shane. It used to be the United Kingdom, but the four countries that make it up: England, Scotland, Wales, and North Ireland are getting more independent. Wales itself has its own politics and some law-making powers, Scotland is vying for independence, Eire wishes to reunite Ireland again against Westminster, and so on. I was born in England and now live in Wales, and I don't know what I am.
