Conservative Protestants’ divorce rates spread to their red state neighbors

Conservative Protestants in red states aren’t the only ones seeing high divorce rates — so are their neighbors, according to a new study.

Researchers found that simply living in an area with a large concentration of conservative Protestants increases the chances of divorce, even for those who are not themselves conservative Protestants.

According to researchers who took into account race, income and other factors, marriage and fertility trends that are common among conservative Protestants — younger marriage, more kids, less higher education — affect all people in areas most populated by conservative Protestants, no matter their personal religious affiliation. ...

Another sociology professor came up with this:

"In his own research, Stokes found that conservative Protestants who attend church regularly are significantly less likely to have gotten divorced than nonreligious peers."

Imagine. Actually doing your faith makes a difference.

'Researchers found that simply living in an area with a large concentration of conservative Protestants increases the chances of divorce, even for those who are not themselves conservative Protestants'

Wow
damning indictment.
If it was homosexuals, we'd say it was a judgement from God

when it comes to the issue of divorce, stay clear of 'conservative christians', they're clueless.

when it comes to marriage, christians only know to 'just hate queers'. That is the sum total of our biblical knowledge

Yes, Divorce on Trial should be noted. Kiswyck, fundamentalists should have fought no-fault divorce just as hard as they do abortion.

It's a pity conservative protestants don't work on their neighbors to go up the The Roman Road, instead down the road of divorce

Like a nuclear reactor at critical mass is marriage exposed to no fault divorce. The shrapnel of one Christian divorce sustains the reaction by causing several others.

Also like Chernobyl and Fukushima, containment is difficult.
