Obamacare mandate takes effect; court’s move on contraception clouds milestone
The “individual mandate” requiring Americans to have health insurance, a giant political issue for most of President Obama’s tenure, finally takes effect Wednesday with hardly a passing notice — though the law’s contraception rules drew renewed scrutiny from a Supreme Court justice late Tuesday.

A series of delays and exemptions by the White House have watered down and pushed back key deadlines for the individual mandate. Despite its heavy campaigning for enrollment, the administration has been reluctant to brandish the threat of penalties under the Affordable Care Act for those who don’t comply. ...

Agreed, but acceptance of the situation is what the combination of the corrupt and the ignorant want. Why go along with it? When a politician says what he does is for "the American people" it makes me cringe, for it does not represent me, nor millions of others. As a nation we are a people who wakes up slowly, but wake up we have done before, and we will do so again, if God be willing. He would not have destroyed Sodom if 10 could be found. Perhaps there are 10 or so of his here.
Unless it is specifically stated in the passage I don't assume that there is any kind of promise there, however we are told that if "my people who are called by my name will pray and humble themselves I will hear from heaven and heal their land" one can only assume that in the absence of that healing the requirements are not being met.

We have many "good" people in America but the definition of "good" in America has never required much, work hard, pay your bills and stay out of jail, which sometimes amounts to not getting caught, and you are one of the"good" people.

Perhaps it's time to return to the biblical definition of good and evil and see where the lines of separation are then and each individual, myself included, can see where they stand.

Kind of reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw once,it said " you are a unique creation of God....just like everybody else " it realy doesn't matter what the percentages or demographics are anymore we are either a country that was created to be handed down and preserved as an inheritance from generation to generation or we are not....or we were created that way and we have failed miserably, all the problems we now have had small beginings and the people now running things were once marching in the streets with little or no power but they were allowed to gain power by ignorant and indifferent people all long the way right up until now...our enemies were much more dedicated and diligent and now we live in their world and not they in ours.

No, but then I don't think of people in terms of uniform minded vast multitudes, or of everyone in a particular place as being the same level of ignorance. I suppose that's why I was looking for clarification as to your meaning when you used the phrase "ignorance and indifference of the American people." It was hard not to see this as all-encompassing, what with "the American people" by definition not excluding any of them from said ignorance and indifference.

It is a tribute to the ignorance and indifference of the American people who are always complaining about the priviledged few and special perks of others.....when one considers how many have received waivers from the individual mandate and the law altogether...to include Unions, government employees, corporate friends and buddies,etc,etc..all of the insiders with the right connections...and yet it moves forward anyway fueled by stupidity and the attraction so many have for getting something for nothing.
