50 Years Later, CS Lewis’ Legacy Shines in US, Not His Homeland
When he died on Nov. 22, 1963 hardly a soul blinked in Northern Ireland where he was born or in England where he spent most of his working life as one of the world’s greatest Christian apologists.
Clive Staples Lewis was a week short of 65 when he suffered a heart attack at his home in Oxford. The obituary writers barely noticed his demise, in part because he died on the same day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas.
British indifference to Lewis half a century ago will be examined at a one-day seminar at Wheaton College on Nov. 1, co-sponsored by the Marion E. Wade Center, the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals and Wheaton College’s Faith and Learning program....
The Lord Jesus Christ is God He spoke in symbolic language many times while He was on the earth. The Holy Spirit who is God and moved men to write holy scripture also used symbolic language. But...unto us the creatures He has commanded Make no silmitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, The likeness of any beast that is on the earth..etc. Please read Deuteronomy 4:14-19. Sorry, but your Judgement of Lewis just brought Judgement on yourself..I am writing all this for those who maybe reading these posts who never post and may not even be a believer..just giving another side to the debate..I did not agree with everything he believed anymore than you believe everything I believe or I believe everything I believe..we can be in disagreement without judging each others salvation.

No point in the arguing, Dolores. Some here don't like anyone who hasn't been dead 300 years. Lewis has been dead for only 50. And he wrote stories about the devil. Wait till Billy Graham dies, for a real slew of edifying posts. And he didn't write stories about the devil.
Did. Jesus,using all these evil things to make a point make Him evil also and using Him self as examples of a Lamb and a Lion wrong?? He came as the sacrifical Lamb the first time, He will come back the second time as the Lion of Judah..bringing Judgement on all who refuse to believe and rewards to all His saints whose names are written in the Book of Life.

It is idolatry to make the person or the character of God the Father or God the Son into the works of ones own carnal mind. Which is a mental instead of a graven image!

Amen indeed. It is a good sign of a new birth when faith is accompanied by love of the brethren, for we know we have passed from death unto life when we love the brethren.

The one in whom the Spirit dwells, does not love the world neither the things that are in the world. He is separated from the world, he is crucified with Christ and no longer lives.
The Spirit tells him he is an adopted son of God. The Spirit seals him. The Spirit raises the level of conscience. The Spirit leads him in the way he should go.
The twice-born witnesses to Christ and his resurrection. He gives up all things for his Master. His time, his wealth, his skills, all is there for the Master to use as he wills.
He is no longer his own, he is bought with a price.
Just as Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness, so the saint will obey God and leave his country if God commands it.
Thus the true believer does not sit at home reciting, "I'm saved by faith alone, therefore I must do nothing, lest I become a boaster."
The true believer is a voluntary servant, he has given his ear to the awl, because he loves the Master and will do anything he says.
