Religious Groups Feel the Pinch of Government Shutdown
As the government shutdown enters its second week, some religious groups are starting to feel the pinch, and theyâre also finding ways to reach out.
More than 90 Catholic, evangelical and Protestant leaders have signed a statement rebuking âpro-lifeâ lawmakers for the shutdown, saying they are âappalled that elected officials are pursuing an extreme ideological agenda at the expense of the working poor and vulnerable familiesâ who wonât receive government benefits.
Starting Wednesday, evangelical, Catholic and mainline Protestant leaders will hold a daily âFaithful Filibusterâ on Capitol Hill with Bible verses on the poor âto remind Congress that its dysfunction hurts struggling families and low-income people.â...

Itâs heartbreaking because the reward to President Obama for pursuing broadly middle-of-the-road policies is to be accused of being an ultra-liberal or, even more preposterously, a socialist. Are our right-wing multimillionaires and billionaires, who are making more money than ever, so unhinged that they can cast a modest tax hike as a large step toward a Soviet-style economy?

Jim, sorry you have head cold, maybe the tablet you need to try is alka seltzer plus (jpw may have a better all natural remedy) Hope and pray and you feel better soon. Oh, and Obamacare doesn't kick in until next year so government cannot help you yet.
