Expert Explores Link Between Federal Data Mining and Common Core
In an exclusive studio interview with The New American magazine’s Dr. Duke Pesta, Heartland Institute Education Research Fellow Joy Pullmann outlined the crucial link between the Obama-backed “Common Core” nationalization of schooling, the federally funded tests that go with the standards, and the vast data-gathering apparatus being erected by the administration to gather private information on U.S. students. The Common Core assessments, which have already been adopted by about four in five state governments, are a key element underpinning the entire scheme, she explained.

“The first thing people have to know is that testing is inseparable from Common Core,” said Pullmann, a leading analyst focused on the education “reform” agenda with the non-partisan Heartland Institute. “When governors signed a bunch of documents saying ‘yeah, we want to do this nationalization of education project,’ one of the ...

Bush was wrong, as I have previously pointed out. I doubt he expected the Dems would run with it, but that's what happens when someone feels "We have to do something," and in the heat of the moment pass bad law. (This happens often when some nut shoots someone, and some political opportunist nut takes advantage of the situation))

I'm just pointing out, the evil has escaped Pandora's Box and that box like tube of toothpaste, you aren't probably going to squeeze it back in again.

I'm just pointing the nut-so ideas that the John Birchers come up with. Not that I would trust an ultra-right group protecting privacy than left wing ones. I would probably think the government, may do a better job, as long as there isn't a Nixon type in the White House.

The whacko Birchites would be amusing if they hadn't taken over the Republican party. All anyone has to do is to go the social media such as "Facebook," and they can get more information on kids, plus a lot of naked pictures of them as well apparently, without trying to use Common Core. Schools keep records, the government probably get any of them would want anyway, with or without Common Core!

Good defense, Jim. "If private groups are doing it, why not govt?" You probably honestly see no difference. One doesn't know what one doesn't know.

Does "These people" who need get the big picture of what will inevitably happen include Obama? The NSA? IRS? Congress? Or just those you assume are Birchites?
