Brain scans find porn addiction

COMPULSIVE users of pornography show the same signs of addiction in their brain activity as alcoholics or drug addicts, a study has revealed.

In the first research of its kind, scans showed that a central portion of the brain which is stimulated in drug or alcohol addicts also “lit up” when compulsive pornography users watched explicit material. There was no such effect in the brains of people who were not habitual users of porn.

The Cambridge University study will increase pressure for tighter control on porn. Researchers used MRI scans to analyse the brain activity of 19 users of pornography who said they had a problem with their habit. ...

False. Your comment is not logical and only an insane person would not consider themself an addict when they are addicted to something, so it is false to state that you are not an addict when you are an addict. If you are addicted to something, then you are an addict, because if you are addicted to anything, then you are an addict, so to claim that you are not an addict is false and is not logical.

: ) sorry, I couldn't resist.

Romans 12:2
(NKJV)

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Those addicted to porn need realize they can't be like the guy who swept his house and then was open to more evils coming in. It is defenitely a replacement principle of putting on the Lord Jesus Christ as well as making no provision for the flesh. They need with the assistance of the Holy Spirit and Holy Writ to start a new pattern of conformity to the will of God. Much time needs to spent in prayer and meditation to develop a love of and fear of God in their daily lives. I have heard that a long time elder said that it was the third toughest addiction to break below heroine and meth.

We need more brokenness and contrition for our sins against the Divine love that brought our glorious Lord from heavens portals to become sin for us and pay a debt we could not pay.

Not sure this is really anything special. Any repetitive task a human does is mapped through their neurons. When someone can perform a task "in their sleep" that part of their brain lights up like a Christmas tree. So it would make sense that repeated exposure to something like porn, TV, video games, alcohol, yelling, anger, etcetera, would produce a specific region of activity and continued desire simply by habits sake. And by our sinful natures, we are drawn to smut anyhow, so... Again, not sure this is so amazing but I bet they'll label it as an addiction that needs medication, and lots of it.

I bet God was on to something when he said, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8

Well modesty forbids, on what part of the body should be cut off of priests who stumble, though Origen set a good example for Romish priests anyway,

Matthew 5
29 "And if your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out, and throw it from you; for it is better for you that one of the parts of your body perish, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
30 "And if your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off, and throw it from you; for it is better for you that one of the parts of your body perish, than for your whole body to go into hell.---NASB.

Far better of course that Romish priests make Pilgrimage From Rome to see How to Have Victory Over Sin then to have parts of their brains or other parts of their body removed.
