'Raising the Debt Ceiling...Does Not Increase Our Debt,'?
Raising the debt ceiling doesn't increase the nation's debt, Pres. Obama declared in a speech today.
"Now, this debt ceiling -- I just want to remind people in case you haven't been keeping up -- raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy. All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you've already racked up, Congress. It's a basic function of making sure that the full faith and credit of the United States is preserved."...
Over the Summer, while Mr OBama was speaking to a crowd gathered (I don't remember who or where), but one of his comments, while he was exaulting all has done was" "we have cut out national debt in half." The talking heads went wild because it was just one more out of a series of outrageous lies. He meant what he said because they were all playing the clip over and over, and in its full context. The people were clapping and screaming with excitement as if it had really happened. I don't know how it is that he can get away with such nonscense time and again.
The prez said: "Now, this debt ceiling -- I just want to remind people in case you haven't been keeping up -- raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy. All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you've already racked up, Congress. It's a basic function of making sure that the full faith and credit of the United States is preserved." ...
The word pathological comes to mind.
The fascinating thing is, he says this without bursting out laughing.
Reality check. We've done this over a hundred times and the debt went up over a hundred times.
But now if we do it again, it won't go up because raising the debt ceiling "does not increase our debt."
All we are doing is paying the bills already racked up? How did they get racked up beyond the debt limit? What part of limit is hard for corrupt govt. to understand?
they created something like 16 trillion in debt in the last number of years to go to the bankers who run the petro dollar.
this is outside of gov expenditures.
this is akin to stripping out the car before taking it to the dump.
the foreign investors have our future profits and are satisfied.
the debt levels are meant to be unpayable.
remember we used to have a gold standard prior to Nixon?
a year of jubilee anyone?
but they have americans thinking "its the muslems" -- this is where our attention should be. the military industrial complex leeches off of this. they write the "security measures" and then create the contracts for their own coffers. Eisenhower warned us of this.
Technically, he is correct. Just raising the debt ceiling is like giving someone a credit card with a crazy huge spending limit. They don't HAVE to spend it. But we're talking about the government here and this Pres is fully aware that the raised ceiling will only have them spending more than they do now. Remember when the debt magically froze a few weeks ago? They just want to drag it into the open now so they can pump more money through sundry monetary systems in their pockets.
As of this morning, the US debt per taxpayer is $132,954.79. Maybe we could all scrounge around in our couches and make a donation toward the money we worked for but was abusedly taken and spent by our government! This is just so ungodly, unbiblical. What an abuse of power!
Dr. Joe Morecraft made an interesting comment the other day. Paraphrasing, a tyrannical government is simply a government that demands of you a set of laws to follow that are not God's Laws. God is eternal but His patience is not. How important it is for Christians to have our heart and mind in tune with God's will!
What a dumb statement. And yet there are those who will take him at his word and actually believe him. The debt ceiling was 8 Trillion in 2007 when it was raised now it's 16 trillion! I heard an interview by him from 2007 when they tackling the same issue and he acted appalled at 8 trillion dollars of debt and criticized bush about it. Now at 16 trillion he's like just raise it, no big deal.
