Billy Graham: If America Ever Needed God’s Intervention, It’s Now
Renowned evangelist minister Billy Graham said America is in need of a true spiritual awakening.
“If ever there was a time this country needed the intervention of God, it is now,” Graham wrote in a letter published on his Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website. “We can and should pray for America as a whole, but remember that when God sets out to change a nation, He begins by changing people. It starts with individuals.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
In the last days perilous times shall come. The love of many will wax cold. We need to pray, intercede, and ask God for our country. Daniel in ch 9 confesses his sins and the sins of the nation and so should we.

I wouldn't pray out of a sense of patriotism, but rather out of a sense of glorifying God through our nation. Don't pray for economic recovery, but pray that God would call his sheep to Himself. Pray thathis light would shine through us as a beacon to the rest of the world.

Is this true or not? If it is good, it stands. If not, we should take it to task. Otherwise, we're deciding it has no value because Graham said it. We don't do things like that, do we?
Prayer is not a talisman, but a means of transformation for the individual who is praying. God certainly knows what He has in plan for the US and for the believer in the US. Think of Sodom and Gomorrah and the profile dialogue between Abraham an God. Abraham was truly pleading for these cities and trusted in God. God used this to price Abraham's faith though He knew what He was going to do concerning these sinful cities. I think we should pray like Abraham and how Augustine did for Rome knowing God's will be done.

I never pray for God's intervention for the US because I feel like this is how it's suppose to be, and much, much, worse, so that prophesy cn be fulfilled...is this wrong? I do pray for individuals and groups, but never for God to save the country and turn it around because I feel like that would be like wishing against what is to come; what has to come(?)
