Brazilian 'Evangelical' Model Under Fire for Deciding to Appear on Playboy Cover
The Brazilian edition of Playboy magazine recently announced that a model who claims to be evangelical will be on the cover of its September issue.

Aline Franzoi, who belongs to National Mission Evangelical Church in Brazil, was already under fire for being a ring girl for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) competitions, which some consider to be a violent sport. But now news of her upcoming Playboy cover adds additional oil to the heat she has received over her career choices.

A Hispanic news site, Noticia Cristiana, reported that Franzoi told VIP, a Brazilian magazine, that she would not pose nude because she is evangelical. And prior to her most recent career controversy, Franzoi also told another Brazilian outlet, UOL, that she publicly displays her Christian faith in a bold manner. ...

Jesus said to the woman caught in the act of adultery: "Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more..." Jesus did not enter the world to condemn, but to save sinners. Yet, men and women have a responsibility to repent and turn away from their sins, and seek to be born of water and the Spirit.

"Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord."

— Psalm 25:7 King James Version (KJV)

"Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness."

— Proverbs 30:20mKing James Version (KJV)

"And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire."

— Matthew 3:10 King James Version (KJV)

"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

— Matthew 7:16-20 King James Version (KJV)

What's the problem? She's "just doing her job" and being consistent with the popular dual-personality doctrine. You know, do evil from 9-5 for the love of money which is blamed on God (the Protestant work ethic, Romans 13) and then be a believer and do good from 5-9. The dual-personality doctrine! So convenient eh?

Now how many people who profess Christ do you know that do evil in order to "make a living"? Politicians, military, police, lawyers, child predator services, tax collectors/assessors, school teachers, census workers (oh just some extra cash), pharmacists, allopaths, vaccinators, pastors...

And so many more.

Her "Jesus" is not God. God does not approve of UFC ring girls or playboy. She probably said a prayer and "got saved" and probably attends your typical modern church that accepts sodomites. Yuck. I wouldn't use such strong words. While I don't think what she's done/doing is right, I'm also not going to condemn her for it. It's always possible she actually is a Christian, but is allowing the wrong people to influence her. If it were up to me, I would advise her against it, but I'm not her advisor.

She's young and spiritually immature; probably thinking any mag is a viable vehicle to get her story out but I don't think Playboy will be writing a lot about her views on Christ. I watch UFC and Pride so I know how the girls dress as well. I think she has some maturing and soul searching to do. Well, I guess maybe I shouldn't be watching it either...it's not like I stare at the girls ir anything though. I'm thinking more about the violence but does that matter? For a Christian, that is...

This reminds me of a recent online discussion with a conservative "christian" pundit, Alfonzo Washington regarding his rock "christian" rock band's music video with bikini clad models. He called anyone who told him that was not Christian modesty a "legalist" and a "pharasie" and a liar.

Well you have to remember wasn't Hugh Heffner raised by strict Methodists? He's always trying to give more class to his magazine.

Latina, eh, remember the problems Brazil has with Pentecostals? A Look at the Pentecostal/Charismatic Movement - Is it Biblical?, or that matter, The Charismatic Movement--35 DOCTRINAL ISSUES No more Christian than Catholicism is, Should Roman Catholicism really be classified as a Christian religion? -- No. (PDF)

The article is good, but an Evangelical is not "legalistic" q.v., Legalism is Shadow, Christ is Substance and The Inadequacy of Moralism. No, as Christian, if she is a Christian, she shouldn't be supporting "Playboy."
