Obama Invokes Christian Scripture and God During Interfaith Service

President Barack Obama joined religious leaders on Thursday for an interfaith service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, Massachusetts. During his address, he delivered an inspirational message that invoked Christian scripture, while also pledging to find and punish the parties responsible for Monday’s attack.

“Scripture tells us to run with endurance the race that is set before us,” Obama said, referencing Hebrews 12:1. “On Monday morning, the sun rose over Boston, the sunlight glistened off the statehouse dome and the common and the public garden. Spring was in bloom.”

The president also issued a message for the terrorists behind the attack, saying that they will be found — and that their acts will be met with punishment. Obama quoted scripture, again, noting that it teaches that “God has not given us a spirit of fear of timidity, but of power, love and self discipline” (referencing ...

Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

This Lord's Day I sang this Psalm and considered; Lord is translated Jehovah. God in mercy extended his covenant to Adam and when his mutability caused man to second guess God he fell from his original righteousness and with him the whole human race. God again in mercy extended to fallen man the Covenant of Redemption in Jesus Christ. The Scripture tells us Jesus Christ is the Word of God, the Creator-sustainer, the Life and Light of men. He is the Mediator of the New Covenant in His blood. If a nation will not acknowledge Him and further, takes the moral law of the Creator and contradicts it, not only is that foolishness. It is blasphemy. If Christ is God come in the flesh and truly God and truly man, then because very God, the Word of God, for this nation to say: "God Bless America" and not own Jesus Christ as Lord that is contradicting the Word in Psalm 33:12 and that is blasphemy. The 10 Horns of the Beast all have names of blasphemy and the angel tells John these are kingdoms and the crowns on the horns represent their leaders. Satan can quote the Scripture, he believes and trembles, some quote Scripture and ought to.

In this episode, Mr. Obama lays down his presidential cap and puts on his religious leader cap...he even preached from a pulpit this ecumenical message. If this does not warrant criticism, nothing does.

Ephesians 5:11 - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Its curious how the media seems to home in on the fact that these two moslem brothers were so "educated" and "socially agreeable" with their peers at school etc. A couple of nice ordinary guys?

They seem to expect terrorists to be morons and maladjusted introverts.

Iniquity covers many human traits with the purpose of achieving sinful acts. Sin is not ignorant of what people want to see and hear and therefore provides sweet tastes and beautiful images. Just like Satan who is the master of all things subtle. Basically tell them what they want to hear then, in disguise, smile and commit the sin.

Isn't that what politicians and terrorists do?

The Uncle of the two brothers just said that the entire family, including the brothers are Muslim. He said somebody must have radicalized them.

Maybe he, a Vatican puppet for the United States of Britain, should have quoted this:
"...And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived." Revelation 18:23 English Scriptures
Since all peoples are being deceived by the sorceries of the State religion. Consider the magical acts regarding 9/11, Sandy Hook, Boston, vaccination, etc. where the masses actually believe all the nonsense put forth by State fundamentalists.
Amen.

Oh they warrant our criticism alright.

I think you meant to say:

"I am not sure his actions warrant our criticism any more than if it had been someone else"

Not that I'm putting words in your mouth!

I have to leave the room when this man is on television... The first four years I tried to make excuses for him as he was a long time member of an apostate UCC church in Chicago, but now there is no excuse for his hypocrisy and wickedness. If he truly valued life and loved God, he would immediately act to end the slaughter of preborn people in America.

There's no such thing as interfaith in scripture.

Ephesians 4:5 - One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

The other items quoted were not scripture. Below are scriptures and the "us" in the verses are not a pack of "interfaith" unbelievers:

2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Hebrews 12:1 - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

He comes from a Black Liberation Theological background. That perspective is not concerned with God and His sovereign will or holiness as it is with social justice and generic, moral platitudes. Supporter of gay marriage, abortion, and evolutionary based science..."you will know them by their fruit".

No news here yet, but I'm sure everyone has heard the updates on the two murderers, brothers 19/20 from Russia, one of them dead, other on the run. Amtrak, schools, many modes of transportation shut down, MIT officer killed, MBTA emp injured, SUV carjacked, etc.
Now, Mr OBama...I wish he would not quote scripture.. ever. His spiritual advisor types it up and Mr OBama just reads it, making him sound so Christian. I hate when people pull whatever they want out of the Bible and apply it to whatever situation suits them. Somebody here is very good at that.
Because he reads these scruptures, now and in the past; because he attends a church, any the world thinks he is such a holy, God fearing man. I would say it's just the opposite, really. I believe that he really thinks he is, but has no idea of the danger he is in.
