Colorado Springs congregation votes to divorce PCUSA
In an historic move for First Presbyterian Church in downtown Colorado Springs, almost 90 percent of its membership voted Sunday to leave the church’s main governing body in the United States.

‚ÄúWhat is broken down is a common vision and a common purpose,‚ÄĚ Senior Pastor Jim Singleton told a standing-room only crowd at the church Sunday afternoon as he advocated for the split from the Presbyterian Church USA. ‚ÄúWhen we look at the national organization, it no longer connects here.‚ÄĚ

Sunday‚Äôs vote was the culmination of 10 months of work by church leaders to distance themselves from the mainstream governing body of Presbyterian church in the United States, which voted in May 2011 to allow openly gay ministers to be ordained. Singleton cited several other scriptural reasons for the split and said that the move has been ‚Äúcoming for a long time.‚ÄĚ ...

Colorado Springs home of some infamous "evangelicals", http://tinyurl.com/azvwg (Dr. James C. Dobson...General Teachings/Activities) and http://tinyurl.com/yb78xxgl (Ted Haggard)---apparently he's back in Colorado Springs again.

Well, you can read about those two pillars of the community in the above articles, but the following article has a happy ending.

Caleb Hannon wrote:
To fill a $28 million budget hole, Colorado Springs‚Äô political leaders‚ÄĒwho until that point might have been described by most voters as fiscal conservatives‚ÄĒproposed tripling property taxes. Nearly two-thirds of voters said no. In response, city officials (some would say almost petulantly) turned off one out of every three street lights. That‚Äôs when people started paying attention to a city that seemed to be conducting a real-time experiment in fiscal self-starvation. But that was just the prelude.

Too funny!

And the CCC now states that drunkeness is a disease and not an old-fashioned mortal sin -- like gula?

Did the Church change the CCC this morning to teach that homosexuality is now totally cool and no longer "intrinsically disordered" which it's taught for 2,000 years?

James wrote:
Pseudo read your own catechism for the Catholic church which states, people are born homosexual and cannot change. The public statements are political posturing to gain support with evangelicals. The documents and the practice of the priests speak louder than these statements.

It's always good to see a company of believers going back to a biblical independency. Maybe now they will have the freedom to review their belief structure and bring it in line with a more scriptural position.

Unlike the Roman Catholic Church which opposes homosexuality labeling it "intrinsically disordered," Presbyterians now call evil good by literally ordaining openly gay pastors.
These folks will likely have to hand over the keys to their historic building to keep the "orthodox" Presbyterian WCF/faith.
However, if john Knox's WCF (and its counterpart, the LBCF) were true, it wouldn't have collapsed in utter failure regardless of the cultural head winds. They'd still be praising the Lord without fear of eviction.

Pedophillia: Sex or sexual activity with children who have not reached puberty.

In light of the ongoing pedophile priest scandal; in what way does the RCC hold the moral high ground, Allan Schwarb?
