Don't mock Tim Tebow
Tebow is a good man and a good football player. He's a man of character, faith and integrity. He's also a Heisman Trophy winner, a two-time BCS national champion and arguably one of the greatest college football players of all time.

Tebow is a role model for sports fans everywhere. But instead of lifting him up, too many commentators, critics and even fellow athletes mock and deride him and hope that he fails.

The latest example is "Tebowing," where one kneels in prayer with his or her head bent in mockery of Tebow's usual touchdown celebration prayer. Several weeks ago, Detroit Lions' linebacker Stephen Tulloch "Tebowed" after sacking Tebow and Detroit tight end Tony Scheffler "Tebowed" after catching a touchdown against the Broncos.

Critics like to pretend that it's Tebow's football style that bothers them. Tebow hasn't yet proven to be a natural pocket passer, but in his last start he ...

Jim---if you paint someone's character in a wrong light---which you have done here with Tebow, accusing him of getting attention to make money....it is your Christian duty to do more than post a nice article but in the least to apologize for your accusation.....

Not only for the sake of his character and name which you have misconstrued, but also as a fellow believer he is your brother in Christ.

I have no opinion either way, I'm not some emotional Tebow fan or otherwise, just pointing out the obvious.

I finally found this thread. Get ready folks, I'm going to put up what I can think is a favorable article (the URL course) to Mr. Tebow. >It's Tebow time: Denver quarterback inspires nation. So, if the gives his royalties away, I will have to have mainly good things to say about him--except for his, "Focus on the Family," advertisement. (See the article.) You will notice another article,--I see they took the article off about Mr. Tebow's relationship to the number, 3-16. Besides of course,

John 3:16
¶ "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.---NASB

I think there was another thread about idols. Both human and physical ones can be struck by lightning. Giant Jesus statue hit by lightning in Ohio.

I would hope that Mr. Tebow is not a hypocrite, but remember about works?
C.I. Scofield wrote:
[1] {works}

Cf.
# Jas 2:24
These are two aspects of one truth. Paul speaks of that
which justifies man before God, viz.: faith alone, wholly apart from
works; James of the proof before men, that he who professes to have
justifying faith really has it. Paul speaks of what God sees--faith;
James of what men see--works, as the visible evidence of faith. Paul
draws his illustration from
# Ge 15:6
James from
# Ge 22:1-19
James' key phrase is "ye see"
# Jas 2:24
for men cannot see faith except as manifested through works.

If Mr. Tebow doesn't want to be labeled behaving like a Pharisee, then he should stop the behaving like one on the football field.

He still eaves too much confusion in the mind of many, and I would be very happy if he clarified what he is doing -- without having to buy his book.

Guess what? Most people in the world don't know Mr. Tibow! If he wants to give glory to God, do it this way,

The Roman Road
Romans 3:10
As it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one."
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Romans 10:13
For "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved."---NASB

I'm with Mike on this from what I've seen and heard of Tebow since his college days at Florida. I believe he thinks he's giving glory to God for the athletic talents given him and have not heard anyone who knows him well (believer or non-believer) express that he is a hypocrite.

I finally did find out that he is a Baptist, I think, even if he does act like a Pentecostal. He leaves a lot of question in peoples minds just what he is.

Hmm, is this what Tibow is doing?

Matthew 7
6 "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.---NASB

If he is being ridiculed for giving a clear Gospel message, then he could be honored in Christian circles, I don't see that happening.

Fascinating how no matter what is done, if not done our way, it must be wrong. Tibow is obviously unashamed to be known as Christian, regardless of ridicule.

Luke 9:26 "For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels."

N.B., the author of the above, William Bennett, is a Roman Catholic.

I hate to ask, but does Tebow also pray when the *opposing* team scores? It's not as if one team is any more godly than the other. And consider:
“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” — Matt. 6:6
