Every hour of TV watching shortens life by 22 minutes?
Anyone who spends six hours a day in front of the box is at risk of dying five years sooner than those who enjoy more active pastimes, it is claimed.
Researchers say that watching too much TV is as dangerous as smoking or being overweight, and that the â€śubiquitous sedentary behaviourâ€ť should be seen as a â€śpublic health problemâ€ť.

August is the slowest news month. The study is locked behind a paywall, so no one has actually read it. The media is hyping it based on an abstract. I have not seen a single article which suggests any media member has actually paid for this study and analyzed it.
