Porn's destruction is infiltrating the church
Foes of pornography are losing, and an onslaught of sexual attacks likely will result, Southern Baptist ethicist Richard Land believes.

"We're losing this war. We haven't lost it, but we're losing it," Land, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, said at a conference on porn and sex exploitation. "And if you don't think we're losing it, you spend time with college-age young people, and you'll find out we're losing."

He described hardcore, online pornography as "the greatest danger this country faces."

"[I]t is destroying our culture. It is destroying our families. It is destroying our children," Land said. ...

I truly think a big problem today with Christian men (and women) is they are straying to close to the edge and watching how close they can get before they fall over. This is not Biblical at all. Stay away from the edge. Flee (shun, run away from, disappear from, turn away, rebel against) fornication and all that that definition implies. God says flee,, then we flee. We don't court temptation, we turn our backs on it and run! Remember, you are joined at the hip with Jesus (bond-servants), what you see, He sees...

18. Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.

1 Timothy 2:9, Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, 10 but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.

1 Peter 3:1 In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, 2. as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. 3. Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; 4. but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.

It would appear that many in Christ's church are giving lip service to the above scriptures. "A truth that is not applied is meaningless". Christian men of all people should strive to find women with inner beauty. Christian women of all people should strive to develope inner beauty. What a sad article!

I can't take the credit. I had prayed prior to leaving home, its a dangerous world out there and I was looking for safe social interaction. Having been greatly disappointed and now at the last stop before returning home, it was my only social opportunity. I think she did know what I was saying because our contrast ('plain' observer) was obvious, but she was being politically correct because her job required it. She had wasted people skills for a grocery store and probably a lack of good teaching and example.

I found your "she didn't even understand her temptation, but he did" worthy of further consideration, and consistent with the Scripture. I'm thinking of 1 Cor. 11. concerning the role of father's and husbands.

His wife joined him, that seemed helpful and he got passed the line director. I was next so I asked the young woman if I could speak to her moving close enough not to embarrass her, she quickly move away stating she had a cold. So I was a little louder and said that man really had a struggle and he was trying not to look at you. I told her you can think about what I am saying, he has a wife. Her response was uncomfortable briefly and then she said; I guess your giving me a compliment. I gave her a knowing smile and thought; It must be hard to be a man.
It sounds the greeter was having a harder time understanding the situation then this fellow. She didn't even understand her temptation, but he did. The fact that she didn't have a clue says a lot. BUT GOOD FOR YOU in addressing the situation. Most folks wouldn't do that.

Mr. Hranek, I echo you. Mr. Ludy spoke at MassHOPE, a Christian home-schooling conference (one of the good ones), and he really blessed my heart with his addresses. I hope to hear him again some day. He did really change my view of my (Lord willing) future marriage and my unknown wife. Thank you for sharing about him on here. Indeed, it would be very wonderful if he made it to SermonAudio.

It should go without saying pornography is evil, shameful and wickedly addictive but saying this often does little to be holy to be pure to be thoroughly and joyfully thankful for one's spouse.

I don't know if you all have ever heard of Eric Ludy author of "The Bravehearted Gospel" a book that has been a blessing to me. In the chapter he titles 'Miranda' he tells of an experience when he was aked to address a youth gathering on the subject of purity because of comments he made of loving a wife he hadn't even met yet and keeping himself pure for the one Christ would give him and when he dared speak on not just physical purity but spiritual as well, getting ridicule and rejection from the leaders of the very mission team he was on.

If you would like to get an idea of his teaching, the teaching of a man with a heart after God he has several videos on YouTube and at Ellerslie.com

I trust what God speaks to your heart through this man will be a blessing and an ecouragement to you. I hope to see him on SermonAudio someday.

The quickest way to ascertain how deadly pornography is, is to conduct this simple test. If you don't think it's addictive, leave it alone for a month. Don't go near it for 30 days, betcha can't. If you claim to be a Christian, put a Bible and your magazines next to each other and guess what you'll eventually reach for? Not rocket science to figure out. Here's another one. Find out what "men" looked at for pleasure back in the early 1900's and tell me if it does anything for you. If you yawn or smirk at it, then you are damaged.
Porn changes a man's perspective on what women are to look like, act like and how they are to be treated.

Alarmed yet? How do you daughters dress? How do your sons think of women? How do you men think of women? How do you treat your wife? Your sister? Your mother? We need to repent and begin to implement Biblical standards of modesty in our lives! Judgment begins at the house of God not in the world. Listen to Pastor Jeff Pollard on modesty to begin and pray for our churchs!

The Church needs to teach and correct her people,of course to do that she needs a good working knowledge of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures and not to have quenched, grieved, vexed, nor tempted the Holy Spirit. To do disdain to His Triune Holiness is to be a synagogue of Satan, at least that is what I understood Christopher Love's Sermon to say on Gal.5:17; concerning the war between the flesh and the Spirit.

The Magistrate has to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord and Creator God and act accordingly starting with the Constitution and then it needs to do its God ordained job.

Then and only then can God's people rest quietly and the gospel flourish in peace; though I doubt not it will flourish in persecution, it always has historically. Lukewarm demands God's rod; otherwise it is a win/win for the 'Lord's' side.

I wonder how many Christians realize how the nature of online porn has changed in the past few years. The widespread adoption of broadband has made it possible to find full-length pornographic movies online for people who know where to look. The days of online porn being limited to still photos from magazines and 30-second video clips are over, and today's porn is much more explicit.

Pastor Mike wrote:
Pardon my French, but Richard Land is so tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up his butt, in two weeks you'd have a diamond. Pornography hasn't destroyed anything. It's been scientifically proven not to cause any harm. He's never going to win his silly little war, because porn is protected by the first amendment as free expression. So if you choose not to view it, that's fine, but please don't try to make other feel bad who just want to have a little harmless fun. God bless!

All stems from 1000s of hours listening to porn-Rap through MP3 buds.

Local Christian high school student paper posted "Top 10" songs including a song, AKA: "Super Perfect."

“Let me write the songs of a nation and I care not who writes its laws.”
