Churches Open Doors to Muslim Worship
They see it as their Christian duty. But others disagree, saying it extends the hand of fellowship where it was never intended to go.

Two Protestant churches are taking some heat from critics for opening their church buildings to Muslims needing places to worship because their own facilities were either too small, or under construction.

But Dr. Alex McFarland, a Christian theologian and radio talk show host, charged these churches “have crossed the line from respect and tolerance, to ... affirmation and endorsement.

"We as the church are called to show love, we're called to help. But to let a building simultaneously be used for the activities of a mosque and also the activities of Jesus Christ, it's just incompatible. And I think it's one more example of political correctness and hyper-tolerance gone awry." ...

Let's go ahead and let Playboy have a party there. That shouldn't be a problem, should it? I mean, if it's just a building and it doesn't matter.

The church is just a building - this is true. Others will point out that the military and other secular organizations share space - this is also true. The problem here is that the space is not secular but belongs to believers of Jesus Christ. As I see it, worship of a false god is evil. God says it is evil. Do not aid or abet the practice of evil. I am not saying the people are evil but their worship of a false god is evil. That is what is going on here. It is nice to be nice but do not help them paint their totem poles. Amen.

Michael you are correct!

To be truthful, the recommendation is mostly needed by myself right now. In my life I have gotten so preoccupied with the disobedience of others, and I was noticing that it was taking away from my walk in The Lord.

I know that the world hated Jesus, because He testified that it's works were evil. And that His followers will be in the same position. But I, a woman weak in body and mind, really need to fix my eyes on Jesus very tightly.

Keep up the work in the faith and God bless!

I count you a precious sister in the Lord. Yes, I am well aware we all have our own faults to lay before the Lord yet there is a balance here.

You are certainly correct we ought to first be concerned with our own walk with Christ.

Yet in our love for others there is a balance of preaching the Truth, exposing error and false teaching and encouraging the lost to repent and our brothers and sister in Christ to become again faithful to what Christ says.

My heart is in evangeism and a large part of it is that sinners see there is a difference between what is obedient to the Lord and what is shamefully disobedient so that when they might seek after Jesus they would know in a figure of speach the good guys (obedient) from the bad guys (disobedient)

I have this burden as well for Christians who are literally beat up with and by those teaching false doctrine and practising disobedience to Christ that they might be encouraged to stay faithful that they are not alone in desiring genuine Biblical Holiness and the manifest presence of God and the real knowing of His love.

The text just quoted refers to the apostolic persecutions by the Roman Emperors. Peter's remove proceeded John's, but both suffered under them. The false church instigates against the true church of Jesus Christ and the civil sword carries out the judgment against the saints, this can be observed historically.
We should not meddle in other men's affairs, very true. But Jude says: 2Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. 3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
When Peter said: “But Lord, what about this man?”, he was concerning himself with a brother in the Lord.

Jesus, indicated that it was His decision what would happen to the other man, and that Peter should be concerning himself in following Jesus.

Their is I war going on in the spirit between satans kingdom and the church . Why would you allow people who are not born again believers to bring their false god( who is a demon) into the Santuary of a holy God who died to establish HIS KINGDOM. The preaching of the cross is foolishness TO THOSE WHO PERISH BUT TO US WHO BELIEVE IT IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION if people continue to preach this watered down Christianity without preaching JESUS BLOOD the Muslims will never get saved . But don't allow satin in the temple MARK13:14 abomination of desolation standing in the temple declaring himself GOD WAKE UP PEOPLE

John 21:18-22 Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.” Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?” Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”

After The Lord had explained to Peter what was expected of him: And, signified the type of death Peter would die, Peter had questions about others. Such as: “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” and “But Lord, what about this man?”. It seems, The Lord told him it wasn't something for Peter to concern himself with. Part of Jesus' reply to Peter was: "You follow Me".

May we not overly concern ourselves with others, but follow Jesus.

"But Dr. Alex McFarland, a Christian theologian and radio talk show host, charged these churches “have crossed the line from respect and tolerance, to ... affirmation and endorsement."

"Mohamed Elsanousi adamantly disagrees, saying it’s good for the country to know churches like these are extending a hand to Muslims."

Unless the hand extended to Muslims by the Christian Church offers the word of God and true knowledge of Jesus Christ, the one that said 'no one comes to the Father but through him', then that "christian church" is serving Allah, the moon god and a false god and another master. Shame on them!

If memory serves me a large Baptist church in Chattanooga, TN removed crosses from it buildings so as not to offend Muslims and others who came for English classes.

Good verses Jim;
here is the top two....

2Cor 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you" ]]KJV

16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.

"Heartsong Church in Cordova, Tenn., let members of the Memphis Islamic Center hold Ramadan prayers there last September"

Heartsong sounds like one of these super-nice churches where super-nice religion is practiced. Much nicer than those traditional Christians who stick to the Bible.

In other words their religion is Liberalism.

Nuff said!

Hmmm, there seems to be a conflict between Mr. Stone's statements.
Good point Mike, if they are using it as a gospel 'mission' yet 'without trading theologies'; then one would have to ask: What is their mission? To show Christian Charity to a lost and dying world by letting them slip off into a Christless eternity?

It seems to me, related to the ME mind-set they have already shown them they themselves do not firmly hold to their 'religion'. Indicating they are open to the Muslim's and unsure of their own, by inference.

In the judgment of Charity it may not be a heart problem with these church's as much a doctrinal problem, but that will in time cause a heart problem.

"Steve Stone, Heartsong's senior pastor, wrote in Christianity Today that "No thought at all was given to the political ramifications … The decision was firmly based only on our understanding of the mission and nature of the church." He also pointed out that "there was no trading of theologies. They are Muslims; we are Jesus followers; both of us are clear about that."

Hmmm, there seems to be a conflict between Mr. Stone's statements.

Although I certainly don't condone what they are doing but remember the Church is not a building or sanctified, if that were the case the Roman Catholic church would be the only church with all it's iconic buildings all over the world. The temple of GOD is in the Christian I Corinthians 6:19 readsr do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? Also this passage is on point II Corinthians 6:16 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[b] are the temple of the living God. So the building is is not relevant but the soul is and they are losing theirs by following this path.

Isn't that idol worship in God's house? I seem to remember that God feels rather strongly about that issue. I think we need to fear God more than man.

2 John 1:9-11 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

I realize that blanket statements are very useful for attracting attention, but it is very misleading to say, "Churches Open Doors to Muslim Worship" when the fact is only two so-called churches have done so.
