Archbishop of Canterbury moves to flush out Anglicans plotting to defect to Rome
In a surprise announcement, Dr Rowan Williams said he wanted to establish a new joint group of Roman Catholic and Church of England figures to oversee the conversion process.

The proposed group would be designed to enable smooth and less painful transition for those who want to leave the Church of England to become Roman Catholics in protest at the ordination of women bishops.

It would also bring into the open the negotiations between disaffected Anglicans and the Vatican which have been taking place in secret for months. ...

Did the world ever take notice of Christians, except for persecution's sake?
Precisely!

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;
Acts 17:1-6 KJV

When scripture is believed and preached, things happen - both good and bad. So why do we not see this today, Mike? Generally, I mean. We should all be concerned about the answer.

Unity like there used to be before the newer translations, bro? All was peace, love and granola? Did the world ever take notice of Christians, except for persecution's sake?

Why John UK, if people stop using The [A]nglican [V]ersion a syncretic Bible put forth by a sycretic church founded by a serial wife murderer! and start using a Bible translated by a multi-ethnic group of Christians, such as the ]]NASB everyone would be much better off.

John had me looking around at the 39 Articles of Anglicanism, and finding them it does show that J.C. Ryles "was the exception that proved the rule!" The Anglican Church was never Christian.

"The faith of Anglicans is founded in the scriptures, the traditions of the apostolic church, the apostolic succession – "historic episcopate" and the early Church Fathers...." ]]Anglicanism

Colossians 2
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.
9 For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;---]]NASB

That day is the day of Christ's second coming. Then and then only will the promise receive its complete fulfillment--"At that day you shall know."
(Bishop J.C.Ryle)

From his comtry on John XIV 18-20:-
"18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you."
Correct!

And I believe that sectarianism, which is none other than schism, is the greatest blight on the Christian Church. If folks would stick to ONE Bible and The Apostles Creed there would be such a unity among Christians that the world would have to take notice. Let all secondary issues take wings and fly off back to hell, for none of us have doctrinal perfection.

Why John, UK, does it take 39 articles? It only takes 5!
If you used a few more articles Jim, you may eventually begin to agree with John (correct) Yurich, namely:

XVIII. Of obtaining eternal Salvation only by the Name of Christ.
"They also are to be had accursed that presume to say, That every man shall be saved by the Law or Sect which he professeth, so that he be diligent to frame his life according to that Law, and the light of Nature. For Holy Scripture doth set out unto us only the Name of Jesus Christ, whereby men must be saved."

Why not check out the Calvinistic Articles of the C Of E, and the anti Catholic sentiments which the modern church is too pussy-footing to even dare to mention in their assemblies. Also, one of my own favourites, Article 17 on predestination and election, without which none of us should be saved.

Go on Jim, have a read! And get some Protestant Reformation history into your head.

]]English Dissenters many who were Christian and of course many who were no more Christian than the corrupt English Church, but at least knew it was wrong and left it. So, there were Christians in the Anglican Church, so? It is said there were Christians in the Romish Church down through history, but that never made the Romish Church Christian.

Because of Wesleyan copying of the Anglican tradition the fruit of his labor is suspect, ]]United Methodists at the End of the Mainline. Only the ignorant would ever mistake the Anglican Church for being Christian, Syncretism is condemned by Christians and the Anglican Church is every bit that, and always has been. It has always borne rotten fruit.

Michael my dear ol' bro

I apologise if I upset your equilibrium for a moment. Please note that I said he was converted "during" the eucharist. That is, it was while the eucharist was in process that some words from the vicar shook him to bits, leading to his new birth and baptism with the Spirit in a nearby bell tower, where he had adjourned to pray and seek God.

Sure, the doctrine of transubstantiation is yet another error of the Roman Catholic church.

Thanks also to Roger for your encouraging words.

QUOTE][AUTHOR]John UK[/AUTHOR]Ever read The Thirty-Nine Articles, Jim?
I suggest you do so, in order to stop making a complete idiot of yourself by making idiotic comments about a church you obviously know nothing about.
Also you could read the lives of great men of God like Howell Harris, who was converted during the eucharist, George Whitefield the great (Frenchy) field-preacher, Bishop John Ryle whose commentaries on the gospels are still read avidly by sensible, aspiring preachers today, and many many more good Anglican men and women who will knock spots off both of us at the Bema.
Even the Anglican Wesley brothers will shine like stars at the Bema, because of their devotion and free-willed obedience to their Master [LTRU].
Agree with you entirely John.
Americans particularly ought to be able to remember George Whitefield in this connection.

Wayfare, as has been pointed out before, Anglicanism has never been Christian.

"Dr Williams acknowledged that the ordination of homosexuals and women as bishops threatened to create “deeper divisions” within the world-wide Anglican Communion.
"I feel that we may yet have to face the possibility of deeper divisions," he said."

The further a church gets away from the Bible, the more Satan destoys it.
The wrath of God is upon them iaw Romans 1:18 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness"
Therefore....
v22 "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools"

The Anglican communion is no longer Biblical or Christian. But they are blind to the truth.

Matt 23:24 "Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel."
