Is the Tea Party unbiblical?
When conservative broadcaster Glenn Beck warned churchgoers to ``run as fast as you can’’ if their pastors preach about ``social justice,’’ was he also encouraging them to run from the Bible?

That’s what some progressive Christian leaders are arguing as battle lines are drawn for the 2010 mid-term elections. They say Beck and his Tea Party followers are, in a word, unbiblical.

Not so fast, say Tea Party activists, who claim biblical grounds for a libertarian-minded Jesus. He didn’t like tax-based welfare programs, they say, and encouraged his followers to donate from the heart. ...

Any movement to make the federal government uphold the Constitution and Bill of Rights, like they say they will do is a good thing.

We do not have to render to Ceasar. He is long gone and his face was on the currency.

On our currency there are dead people, how can we render to them?
That would be necromancy.

Income tax is illegal and they know it.
Anyone who thinks it is legal is nto using the brain God gave them.

My name is Cezar, you could render unto me.

the tea party was started by Ron Paul supporters before the last presidential election. Glenn Beck jumped in and tried to republicinize it, to hold his party together.

I don't particularly care for the tea partiers. I will never go to one of their rallies!!! But I think they have every right to say what is on their minds. Why does everything we do have to be religous. Some very good organizations have nothing whatever to do with religion. I served on a volunteer fire department and they never talked about God or Jesus, but where still a valuable organization. I'm not sure but I feel that most on SA would like to live in a thocracy. We would have never survived over 200 years with religous leaders guiding our country!!!

Yes, you are to pay taxes, it is American elected representatives who passes those taxes, it is part of ]]Rendering To Caesar: A Biblical Perspective On Government.
Very predictable, Jim. Shouldn't you be quoting Romans 13:1&2 as well?

btw, who said the Tea Party movement is or has to be Christian? And why do you toss in the Birchers? To manufacture guilt by imagined association?

But first of all they called themselves after an act of terrorism. Truth hurts. Yes, terrorism.

ter·ror·ism (těr'ə-rĭz'əm)
n. The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

An act of revolution against an unjust government. Taxation without representation. I wouldn't say that the Tea Party is unBiblical, but it's certainly not an all Christian group either. I think in the elections both Novemember and two years from now, it will be the conservatives race to lose. They should gain quite a few seats in November and hopefully they will ouster the Obamanation next time, but there are no guarantees. 1. If the Republicans don't put up a candidate that wants to win. 2.If the tea party is strong but not strong enough and the Obmatons get him re-elected with less than 50% of the vote. It happened for Clinton both terms because of Ross Perot's strong third party run. 3. If the Republicans run Palin. Perception is reality and most of the people in the midddle ground perceive her to be an idiot.
