Bill would require sex education starting in kindergarten
A bill introduced in the Iowa House would expand what’s required to be taught in schools to include “age-appropriate”, comprehensive sex education beginning in kindergarten. The legislation is being pushed by Mary Mascher, a Democrat from Iowa City, who is a longtime educator.

She says kids need more information than they get in schools where abstinence only is taught. “We need to give kids good information. We need to give kids the ability, the skill set to be able to make a good choice and good choices in their lives,” Mascher says. Mascher says parents would have the option to pull their children from the sexuality classes. ...

Well, fancy reading this. Today I am keeping my 9 year old son home from school because the principal is having some 'expert' to discuss with them why it's okay to be 'gay'. I told the principal they have no right to be discussing such things with children but she insisted that it would not be a coarse discussion, only to deal with the homophobia which is in the school. Regardless, I told her that my son would not be attending that day. I told her that I longed for the days of old when reading, writing and arithmetic were the staple. Imagine, brainwashing young children to such filth. I can imagine there are going to be a lot of millstones dropped one day.
Homeschooling is the best solution, sir. I would find it impossible to leave my child in a government indoctination center.

I have no idea at all why Sermon Audio (which I love), allows some of the comments posted here. Some of these comments have nothing to do at all with the subject matter at hand. This happens quite abit on other "forum subjects" as well here in S.A. I hope that S.A. corrects this problem so that each response is edifying and not argumentative and at times, I believe, even hateful!

As Christians, we don't want sex education and birthcontrol taught in the schools, but we choose to live just like the heathen at home sacrificing our future to Molec. Potential Christian children are endangered by Christian parents using IUDs and chemical birth control pills; so much for God's commandment of going forth and multiplying............makes you wonder what the world thinks about our Lord Jesus Christ when so many of His followers mock His name by living in sin.

There are still some good politicians out there

The trick is being able to separate the ones that really are good from the ones that only look and sound good. A skill I think is increaingly lost on the American electorate these days.

Right now we have a LOT of people running our coutry that look and sound good.

No offense Mike, I usually enjoy your post. Just poking a little fun. All politicians are letting us down. You can't put stock in any of them.

Really? Never short of comedy, are you Barry?

Actually imo, the only difference between Republicans and Democrats is, you know the Democrats will do the wrong thing all the time, whereas the Republicans will do the wrong thing most of the time. That's why I'm not registered as a Democrat or Republican. How about you?

Any school that would allow such absolute perversion to infect the minds of little children should be invaded by the dads for a showdown (ouch!) with the principal. If the principal is a woman, let the moms take care of business.

The disease of Liberalism attacks all authority and normal community relations. Wife is no longer wife. Husband is no longer husband. Marriage is no longer marriage. Family is no longer family. And children are no longer allowed to be children.

Satan is attacking the family to divide and conquer. As he tempted Eve in the Garden by confusing what God had established, he continues to work that sucessful ruse on the creature, since it works.

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

When will the government get it into their thick skulls that kindergarten kids are incapable of making wise decisions for themselves, no matter how much "information" they are given. "Information" is no substitute for moral discipline because it gives them no moral basis from which to make wise decisions.

It's like handing a kid a loaded gun and then telling them how it works. They need to be told the immorality of using it to murder, not how it works and what will happen if you pull the trigger.

Hey Mike, when I was on school board I believe at least two of those proposing sex ed for K students were probably Republican and members of the local conservative Baptist Church.

As a former gov't school board member in Waterloo, Illinois, I advise parents to immediately withdraw their children from gov't schools. What this woman is advocating is nothing new. We had teachers and school administrators advocating sex ed for kindergarten students when I was on board (1995 - 2000).
