Brit Hume had some advice for Tiger Woods during this week's "Fox News Sunday." Woods will recover as a golfer, Hume says, but it remains to be seen whether he will recover as a person.
"He's said to be a Buddhist," Hume said. "I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. ... Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery."

carol wheeler,
You are quite right with all your comments because the Bible backs up your claim. But you missed a comma next to Tiger, when you do that he is a "Tiger God"!
And when you start a new thought speaking to the one the article is about, it is proper English to start a new paragraph. It makes it much easier for the your reader to understand what you meant.
Since all this has happened, he is no longer a "Tiger" but he has evolved into a "Chetah"!

panic buying i expect, to listen to the news here you would think we were teetering on the edge but really its only a slight and temporary inconvenienc, a novelty more than anything. Our climate here is wet and mild i go surf canoeing and sailing even in the winter its seldom really that cold
The green earth worshipers should be considered a real joke the next time they start talking about global warming. This is one of the coldest years on record. Those who are poor and homeless and are braving the elements should especially be prayed for and if any are in a position to help them we should do so as Christians who are living their faith!

Don't envy you. Don't you wonder how it is when less people drive, there are sudden "shortages" of fuel?
We had 37 inches over 9 days, but we're used to it, I guess. School's open.

Uprightness includes several characteristics. Adam was created upright, an adult, a spirit, and with a will. He did not come into the world as all others have. The first man was created mature, without the necessity for physical and mental growth and development. The idea that Adam had advancing stages in growth and learning contradicts the thought of created maturity. Adam’s maturity proves that he had an inclined will. He was not in a state of equipoise, but his will was inclined toward God, his Creator.

Sorry ErnieG,I thought you would know.It is from KING JAMES VERSION ..JOHN 8 VERSE 7
“The lip of truth shall be established for ever...” reads Proverbs 12:19. Indeed, truth is truth, but truth can become adulterated. Of this we must beware. The man of God must never wrest the Scriptures or handle them deceitfully (II Peter 3:16; II Cor. 4:2). He must always remember that truth is based upon the sense of Scripture rather than its sound. Scripture must be compared with Scripture to discover the truth of any Biblical subject.

“Thy kingdom come” is a prayer that one distinctive kingdom shall come, not two or more, not that one may be within another, or not that one may come in different stages. “Thy kingdom come” cannot be prayed by one who is already in the kingdom, because the language points to the future. The kingdom is distinctively eschatological. Apart from the prophecies of the Old Testament, there would not have been any need for this petition: “Pray…Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven” (Matt. 6:9-10 NASB). The disciples would not have been taught the mysteries of the kingdom. The kingdom is the Father’s to give, not ours to help bring into existence. It will come when Jesus Christ comes as King of kings and Lord of lords—the appearing of Christ and His kingdom (II Tim. 4:1). If the kingdom is already here, Paul’s statement on hope is unwarranted. “For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one also hope for what he sees?” (Rom. 8:24 NASB).

No other faith can combat the total depravity of man as no others teaches it never mind gives a solution for it.
The proof of man's total depravity is in our children whom we like to call innocent. Yet as innocent as children look, no-one has to teach them to cheat, steal, lie, or be selfcentered (the cause of their problems). They have to teach them not to. That is called parenting.
With the absence of parenting comes selfishness and selfcenteredness or namely sin which is defined as the breaking of God's law; missing His mark; going against His nature.
Tiger Woods went against God's nature when he selfishly was unfaithful (to his wife and then his fans) and dishonoured his parents (by showing what a poor job they did of raising him without the integrity to be faithful to his wife). He also dishonoured God by not fearing to break His law and set up sex as an idol.
But these things are forgivable by God, but only through Christ who paid the penalty for all sins.
But let us remember before we get too proud, there but for the grace of God goes I.

God created "finite" beings - only God, in Trinity, is infinite!
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
With this kind of foresight God knew better than to make man immortal.

princecharles wrote: read the book er oh yes 'read the book'read it again and again and again In the image of God means to be immortal
I would call you a 'right charlie', but in this case you are 'wrong charlie.' Obviously the advice to read the Book does not help you!
God planted a tree in the garden of Eden called the Tree of Life. Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil."
As Gen 3:22 points out this tree provides eternal life. - "and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:"
So question; Who was the tree of life planted for? Sinners - NO! they were kicked out of the Garden. "Immortals" - NO! they don't need eternal life fruit they already have eternal life.
So charlie; why did God plant the Tree of Life when according to your religion, there was nobody who could use it?
PS. The Tree appears again in Revelation. 22:14 "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
Looks like the Bible teaches that only the spirit is immortal.

Charles M, I trust you're happy with your move, and it will be interesting to see how that little evangelical church fares. English-speaking? Or do you know the local lingo? And what's that patch of water between you and Rhosneigr? A fishing lake?
Anglers need saving as well.
Thanks for your encouraging words, it would be lovely to see men returning to the Lord and filled with the Spirit.
