Its not that things are getting worse, more that the nations are getting further away from God. One of the signs of this is less church, less sound doctrine, less Bible influence and less accountability to God.
Man goes independant, anarchy becomes prevalent in society and is called "Liberalism" (for those who can see). Man and his wisdom called science can know "everything" gradually. Man in his version of "spiritual" is going to solve all his problems and create heaven on earth for all his brothers and sisters of all religions and none.
Sin is banned and all people will be permitted by the rules to run there own happy little lives and do what they want.
