VATICAN CITY (AP) — The Vatican lauded the latest Harry Potter film on Monday, saying Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince made the age-old debate over good vs. evil crystal clear.
The Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano even gave two thumbs up to the film's treatment of adolescent love, saying it achieved the "correct balance" and made the stars more credible to the general audience.
Oh, oh. There must be some actual witchcraft in the movie to make the Vatican like this one. Instead of just being somewhat harmless fun, (though note: ]]Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone -- It's More than Just Fantasy) When the Vatican praises something that is time to have very serious doubt about it.
I have not seen any of the potter films but I know the first few books showed a slight evil in potter in his friends as they battled a greater evil in LOrd Vorda -something or other. It has sounded pagan from the start. So, its surprising that someone sees it as good(& of course good is not qualified in this news report). Good as in the Good Shepherd. Probably not.
