Church of Scotland abandons Bible - allows gay pastor
LONDON - The Church of Scotland has approved the appointment of an openly homosexual minister - the latest case of tensions over sexuality to prompt division in the Anglican Communion.

The church's ruling body voted Saturday by 326 to 267 to support the appointment of the Rev. Scott Rennie, 37, who was previously married to a woman and is now in a relationship with a man.

Rennie was first appointed as a minister 10 years ago, but has faced opposition from some critics since he moved to a church in Aberdeen, Scotland, last year. ...

The Church of Scotlands first error was to ditch the Bible, otherwise they wouldn't be in the mess they are in. To accompany the Kirk's mess the nation has followed on in Liberal attitude to God and Scripture. After all why should those outside the church believe in a Book which the so called "church" no longer accepts as the Word and Law of God.
Ro 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Amen brother. Keep up the good work.

I believe you have a problem in the perception of the full effect of iniquity upon the church and the nation.
Liberalism is an indicator of deeper problems stretching back to the rejection of the Bible. Having worked in the Kirk some time ago, I have followed their decline with sadness but without surprise!

No.

Q144: What are the duties required in the ninth commandment?
A144: The duties required in the ninth commandment are, the preserving and promoting of truth between man and man, and the good name of our neighbour, as well as our own; appearing and standing for the truth; and from the heart, sincerely, freely, clearly, and fully, speaking the truth, and only the truth, in matters of judgment and justice, and in all other things whatsoever; a charitable esteem of our neighbors; loving, desiring, and rejoicing in their good name; sorrowing for, and covering of their infirmities; freely acknowledging of their gifts and graces, defending their innocence; a ready receiving of a good report, and unwillingness to admit of an evil report, concerning them; discouraging talebearers, flatterers, and slanderers; love and care of our own good name, and defending it when need requireth; keeping of lawful promises; studying and practicing of whatsoever things are true, honest, lovely, and of good report.

Rather ironic given that at the same time you are cross posting under a different alias arguments contrary to the Word of God.

Or is it that the alternative god mammon isn't quite so understanding???

The problem in the Kirk is the same as that of the C of E - the Satanic religion of Liberalism. (Rom 1:18-32 refers) This is the religion which destroys Bible believing churches and as in society it is anarchy from GOD's authority and all authority. Look at the Government, Judiciary, education - all our institutions are being destroyed by the evil Liberal disease. Not to mention the institution of marriage, where normal people bring up their kids. Even the normal role of women wife, mother and help meet (Gen 2:18 and 3:16).

The disruption of 1843, the Reformation of 16th century and the pharisees in Jesus time all saw moves ordained by God to reject the erroneous teachings of church and people.

As an elder you are part of the Kirk witness which is no longer a Bible believing or obeying organisation.

You know what you must now do!

Firstly if your minister voted for such a thing then those who are true evangelicals should separate from apostasy asap even if that true evangelical is only YOU.

How long halt ye between two opinions?

The Church of Scotland is not part of the Anglican Communion; it is Presbyterian, not Episcopalian. Just thought I would point out that inaccuracy from the first paragraph of the article.

What great sadness I feel, that the Church of Scotland, that once stood up for the Bible has abandoned God's word to follow mans will.

I don't see the election of gay minister the problem, it is merely the fruit of a deeper rooted rot, namely how did the Church of Scotland wind up electing 326 apostate ministers?

Do we all see what God is doing. Isn't He putting all godly and righteous people into a position of leaving "church" whatever the denomination.

Righteousness is becoming an outcast, and I am proud follow her.

Looks like the Kirk has chickened out for the time being.

"The Church of Scotland has avoided a potentially damaging debate about whether gay people should be allowed to become Kirk ministers.
At its General Assembly in Edinburgh, it was decided instead a special commission should be set up to consider the matter and report in two years.
There will be a consultation among congregations across Scotland"

Battles not over yet.

"THE divide in the Church of Scotland deepened last night, after traditionalists said the vote allowing the appointment of openly gay minister Scott Rennie had brought "great shame" on the Kirk.
However, conservative opponents of Mr Rennie refused to concede defeat and said there was still a chance to prevent him being appointed"

If there is no repentance by the Church of Scotland for this evil, every Bible-believing member should leave it. I would not stay with ANY church or denomination that rejects God's Word in any form or fashion. We belong to the Lord, not to some religious system.

This is clearly outright Apostasy and the Biblical command of separation must be adhered to. There is thankfully a remnant remaining within Scotland and the UK. Pray for us as we Contend for the faith in Society - it is not easy. Romans 1 v 16 Psalm 118 v 8
