Religious rift tears at Orissa communities
Hundreds of people have gathered in the darkness in the town of Raikia.

Candlelight flickers across their faces as they sit quietly on the floor. They chant and pray as a priest leads them in worship.

For Christians, Easter is a time of hope. But in Kandhamal, deep in the interior in the eastern Indian state of Orissa, hope is in short supply.

This is a community still traumatised by a sudden burst of violence last year, described as the worst anti-Christian rioting in India since independence. ...

Yeah, it's Friday p.m. . .I guess that's why.

I just had a nice visit with our neighbor's children. They were asking for donations for their swim team. So, we had a nice chat on the porch in the beautiful sunshine. We have had such gloomy weather going into Spring, I was beginning to think it would never lift, but today is perfect! And, everything is in bloom. Just beautiful.

The chatter will probably pick up again in a couple of hours. There seems to be a pattern of activity.

Jim, notwithstanding your apparently compulsive desire to hawk Dispyism at every conceivable opportunity, John UK wasn't discussing the *number* of resurrections, but the *subjects* of resurrection, & inferences therefrom. So that was no help at all.

Perhaps some help, Neil?

Gil Rugh said or, wrote:
The span of resurrections revealed in Scripture spans from the resurrection of Christ through the resurrection of all unbelievers.

References in Scripture indicate four resurrections in God's plan that will include every single person who has ever existed.

Christ/First fruits - Matthew 28; Mark 16; Luke 24; John 20 has occurred.

The second (and next) resurrection will be of Church-age believers at the first stage of His second coming as part of the 'first resurrection' of mankind - 1 Corinthians 15:50-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

The third resurrection will come seven years later at the second stage of His second coming to earth, with the resurrection of the rest of the believers which includes the Old Teatament saints - Daniel 12:1-2 and the Tribulation saints - Revelation 20:4.

Good afternoon, Charles,

One of my fondest memories is Easter morning on a Greek ship approaching Patmos. We gathered with others on the deck for a sunrise worship service, and later toured the monastery/museum, going into the cave where John supposedly was housed in exile, and from which he wrote Revelation. From the cave, there was a beautiful panoramic view of the Aegean Sea.

Do you have a favourite island?

Hell is obviously going to be sheer *HELL* for those going there whether in spirit or a resurrected body.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to DESTROY BOTH soul and body in hell.

Whereas

1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM; for we shall see him as he is.

Absolutely! Those that perish will wish they had not been born. If a man rejects Christ he rejects his only hope and will justly be condemned.

It good to hear of your witnessing bro, and I believe creation is now becoming important to teach as most have never heard of this, being brought up in a secular society. Ah the poor youngsters, with so few godly mentors.

I'm glad someone sees the point I made about resurrection and the work of Christ.

Its not a question of anyone having a right to a ressurection John, it is compulsory ! By the sovreign Gods will all men, many to their horror will know that temporal death is not the end of all things. The temporal life will be seen as short and insignificant. What a dreadful day for the lost. Perhaps as you seem to suggest the ressurection of all men is part of the compact agreed by God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and God the Father before the foundations of the world were laid, it probably is but Im not sure exactly wouldnt like to say about such a deep thing . But the ressurection to damnation eternal is a dreadful reality to come
Yes sir prince, but it's only compulsory because Christ died and rose again, without which none of us would be resurrected. The eternal punishment due unto men would still have taken place because the soul is eternal, but the resurrection of the sinner (unto damnation) can only take place because Christ arose (for THEM). This is why I can never understand why folks say that Christ has done nothing for those who are not saved.

By man (Adam) came death.
By Man (Jesus) came resurrection.

Both are true.

Hello again everybody.

Maybe no-one has yet seen the consequences of what you are posting concerning the resurrection of the dead. After all, no person has the right to a resurrection because of sin, and Jesus is the only one who can, by grace, grant that.

Observe:

"For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead."
1 Corinthians 15:21 KJV

The result of Adam's sin was death FOR ALL. Yes? Now the resurrection of the body was by Jesus Christ. He is to resurrection (for all men?) what Adam is to death (upon all men).

Now do you see, dear friends?

So, let me ask you and (DJC49) about the purpose of Christ's resurrection when it comes to the question "For whom was Christ resurrected?"
Let me put some flesh on that. Do you believe that Christ died 'for' some, but 'was raised' for ALL? The reason I ask, is because if Christ was not raised for all, then not all will be raised. See what I mean?
There is only ONE resurrection and only ONE reason for it as the verse in John explains.

also
Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, WE SHALL BE SAVED BY HIS LIFE.

Those reconciled by Jesus death - will be saved by Jesus life. Which narrows the field of course.

The rest are resurrected unto damnation.
