Did Jesus rise from the dead?
MARYVILLE, Mo — Dr. William Craig believes in miracles. Dr. Richard Carrier is sifting through the evidence and can’t find the proof.

Dr. Craig argued that multiple and independent sources attest to the fact that Jesus was buried and rose from a tomb and later appeared to a select group of people.

Dr. Carrier said the sources he cites were either hallucinating or simply spun a work of fiction loaded with irony to convey a tale.

Dr. Carrier said that Barabbas, who in the Bible was released by the Romans instead of Jesus at the behest of the Jews, is a fictional character. He said the name literally means son of the father, which would be an odd name in those times. ...

It's interesting to note that Dr. Carrier is dismissing the resurrection because of the same reason Bertrand Russell dismissed it, because miracles are impossible, therefore it did not occur. However, Dr. Carrier has not alleviated his burden of proof regarding why he thinks miracles are simply impossible.

However, scholarship today is not all against the resurrection of Jesus. I recommend you check out this article by Dr. William Lane Craig on ]]Contemporary Scholarship and the Historical Evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ

Remember Simon Greenleaf and how after checking all the internal and external evidence concluded that the Resurrection was as much a historical fact as anything he had researched.

Very often, you find the same people who attack the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (because it cannot be proved scientifically) supporting Evolution
(although it can not be proved scientifically.

Scientific proof involves the replication of fhe results by controlled experiments and is therefore in both cases impossible.

Historical proof is based mainly on the research and assessment of historical, judicial and literary reports.

Many researchers - e.g. Wallace, Arnold, Wescott, Morison, C.S. Lewis, McDowell - come to the conclusion that the fact of the Resurrection is better verified than any other historical fact.

Brother's Grimm,

Many a brother grim.
Because of "sin".
Problem deep within.
On the "cross", Christ did win!

Word from a minister.
"Gospel" can change one sinister.
For those in dire need.
Did Jesus bleed.

Before one castigates.
A wise man investigates.
Whether or not aware.
YOU - will be there ! ! !

Disregarding facts.
Accordingly he acts.
An foolish doubter.
No rest for the shouter.

A doubting Thomas.
Is among us.
Defend man, I must.
In self, I trust.

An eternal hell.
Is no fairy tale.
Not made for the shelve.
Into the Bible delve.

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

JOHN 3:36

Brethren, two things are certain to happen at this time every year. Many people will make their one and only trip to church for the year (Easter) and fools will deny the resurrection.

Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

John Y.~ this is what you stated in your previous post, 'Jesus earthly remains disappeared from the tomb and are not in existence anywhere on earth'.
Would you please elaborate on your meaning of this statement? Were you merely stating He was resurrected?
If I've misrepresented your post, I apologize to you.
lyn:Yes I was merely stating the fact that Jesus was resurrected.

John Y~ wherever did you get the idea that Jesus' remains disappeared?!
Christ rose from the dead, his body intact, and received His glorified body upon being raised up from the grave. Matthew 27:62-66 speaks of a 'plot' schemed by the religious Jews fearing the disciples may steal his body, but, his body was resurrected whole. He wasn't in the grave long enough to decompose! Read Psalm 16:10, 'because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay'.
This is what happens, John Y., when you sit under doctrines of demons. You starve yourself spiritually, which eventually leads to death. Wrong doctrine leads to wrong thinking. May the Lord get you out of this apostate church, and quickly!
BTW-The proof of His resurrection is found in 1 Cor. 15:3-8
Right. The fact that Jesus rose from the dead means that Jesus disappeared from the face of the earth which is what I was stating and which is what the Bible states. But you come around stating that I deny that Jesus rose from the dead and that I believe that Jesus decomposed. I and all Catholics have not and never have denied that Jesus rose from the dead. That is an essential teaching of the Catholic Church.

Absolutely, Here24; even if we could 'prove' to the satisfaction of the meaning of the word, that Jesus rose from the dead, it would not be enough for the unbeliever.
Besides, what would he do with that information, if it was nothing more than 'proof'.

lyn, I think John Yurich USA simply meant that 'Jesus' earthly remains disappeared from the tomb', not disappeared entirely... I think.

Yes Jesus rose from the dead because the Bible, logical and analytical thinking and archaeology prove that Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus earthly remains disappeared from the tomb and are not in existance anywhere on earth. That fact alone proves that Jesus is God.
How does archaeology prove that Jesus rose from the dead?
Another fairytale by another poster.
